1-1
December 20, 2023 at 10:08 pm #278334Although Scunny have been on the wrong end of the two meetings against Buxton this season, I am forcasting that with the way we are now playing, the score will be :-
BUXTON 1 SCNTHORPE 2.We need to keep our pressure on the chasing pack, and this would be a very good timew for another three vital points, and would set us up for the two games next week against Fardsley Celtic.
December 21, 2023 at 8:33 am #278340First game the weather was a joke. Second game we were in a very bad place, I genuinely thought it could be my last time at GP. Yes, they beat us 3-0 in that game but one goal was a penalty for a foul that was 3 foot outside the area.
I think we owe them a reality check and hope we go do a professional job of beating them, then get on the bus, leave, and never play them ever again.9 users thanked author for this post.
December 21, 2023 at 9:09 am #278341Team talk needs to be that we are going at them from first whistle. Players into space for the ball that is on its way.
Treat the game as a season ending game and a win is a must.

December 21, 2023 at 3:36 pm #278357As mentioned above we weren’t in the best place at the time. Now with everything settled, with players back including Roberts and Beestin, I think we’ll beat these 1-3.
I will however say that these are horrible to play against and any gap in quality they try their hardest to bridge with pure shithousery.
December 21, 2023 at 4:29 pm #278361If we get a half decent ref we will win.
Another one that ignores the incessant petty fouls and blatant play acting and we might struggle for a point.
They will be much happier with the forecasted high winds than us.
December 21, 2023 at 4:52 pm #278363They’ve lost 3 of their last 4 home games, including against City of Liverpool in the Trophy. We need to go out there and give them a spanking after their shithouse antics in the reverse fixtures!
December 22, 2023 at 9:23 pm #278389The police tomorrow will hold Scunthorpe fans in while the Buxton crowd disperse after the game, for a crowd less than 2000 wtf, guess we’re gonna miss the 17.16 back to Stockport then the connection on, pathetic.
December 22, 2023 at 9:38 pm #2783901-1 is the shortest score cast price at 5/1 (Head)
1-3 to the Iron will be my selection at odds of 14/1 (Heart)
December 22, 2023 at 9:54 pm #278391That’s ridiculous most of us need to be back in nursing homes for 8pm or no supper

December 23, 2023 at 1:53 am #278392Not got a good feeling about today .. they are probably our bogey side and all be it assisted by the weather an inept ref and bad timing re where Scunny were as a club when played them they did have the measure of us quite convincingly utilizing all the shithouse tactics known to mankind that mostly went unspotted by the official .. revenge would be sweet as i believe some Bux fans are still telling the story to their grand kids and need silencing … that said my prediction is
Bux 2 Scunny 2
A game with 2 penalties1 user thanked author for this post.
December 23, 2023 at 1:59 am #278394Thought Buxton did a number on us both games- dodgy ref and our off the field issues can be partly used as an excuse,
But in reality they just had our number and beat us pretty convincingly.A good barometer to see if Jimmy has learned from the previous games, tactically we must be smarter.
Always hope for the win but will settle for a point.
1-1

Agree with all that .. has JD progressed or improved tactically since we played them last … he does have the likes of Roberts to choose from now as well.
One thing ..hoping for a decent ref , strong and i can see Roberts getting kicked to pieces a long with Butterfield being mauled by a pride of lions every time he gets the ball.. a weak ref would be playing right into their hands and destroy the chance of a decent flowing game.
Coming out of this game unscathed without any injuries would be a huge result ..though its unlikely the hatchet job Buxton seem to prefer.
December 23, 2023 at 9:30 pm #278400Piss poor game, we still cant break a team down, they came for a point and got it so they’ll be far happier, worst ground I’ve ever visited thank f more didn’t go the view was bad enough as it was, nice stewards helped us to leave easily at full time if you were on the train, 2 points dropped rather than 1 won still haven’t seen them play well away from home, lets hope that changes at Farsley. Wow that hill you had to climb up from the town to get to the ground good job we were roped on and had ice axes.

Over optimistic – deadlock at no goals apiece.
Two points lost yesterday?December 24, 2023 at 9:19 am #278405Piss poor game, we still cant break a team down, they came for a point and got it so they’ll be far happier, worst ground I’ve ever visited thank f more didn’t go the view was bad enough as it was, nice stewards helped us to leave easily at full time if you were on the train, 2 points dropped rather than 1 won still haven’t seen them play well away from home, lets hope that changes at Farsley.
