Olly Turner is a clown,I don’t listen to him at all.
Because he has opinions that don’t align with your own?
I thought insults weren’t your thing BTW.December 15, 2024 at 11:16 am #295587Not only that he doesn’t listen to him to form an opinion.
December 15, 2024 at 11:30 am #295588No a couple of seasons ago when we had ownership issues he just annoyed me,not bothered with him since.Hes more into tabloid antics than and his own ego than anything else .So nothing he says bothers me as I don’t hear it
December 15, 2024 at 11:35 am #295590Just made time to listen to it “Wow” being polite.
My take on it is he’s talking directly at the fans, we won shut up, we got the result what ya moaning at, ” good performance” now your lecturing me and treating us fans as idiots.
Cut the cord Michelle he’s delusional and certainly not the man for the job and becoming an embarrassment for the club.2 users thanked author for this post.
December 15, 2024 at 12:14 pm #295592Big test next week. Hereford are a cut above Marine. Let’s see how we do.
December 15, 2024 at 12:51 pm #295594That interview was a huge disappointment. It’s clear Butler is under a lot of stress and he was asked some ‘gotcha’ questions, but it was incredibly unprofessional. Even if under pressure and you don’t like how the questions being asked, a manager should deal with it more maturely and reasonably.
I don’t know if it has already been done, but he could probably do with a word from the board this Monday. Not meaning a bollocking or formation suggestions, but a check up to reassure and reminder of professionalism. At the end of the day, he is a human being. He has not made the best decisions on the pitch and in handling Radio Humberside lately, which does deserve criticism. However, ratty interviews have happened before, and as supporters we can still try and do our bit to support.
I am not saying we can’t criticise, but a lot of what I have seen isn’t criticism, but vitriol. Ultimately, even with crap performances and form, there is going to be huge reluctance to sack Butler when we’re still 2nd in the table. I am not saying that this league position is a shield from criticism, but the club won’t want to appear sack happy and let any potential future manager know that they aren’t going to put them under too much pressure. Butler has disappointed, and many have said that they want him to turn it round, but others have seemed eager to slate and insult. Awaywego says that some will be disappointed that Whitehall scored the goals, but some give the impression that they take consolation in poor results to slag off Butler to be seen as being right. That may not be the case, but is the impression given by some.
None of this means I don’t get frustration. I am frustrated, including with Butler. However, surely we can do our bit and support. I don’t see how braying at the team will help morale; it will only worsen it. Also, I don’t mean to ‘happy clap’ them off. After poor performances and results I stay silent and walk off, since I agree that it wouldn’t deserve clapping. However, a loss is likely to lessen confidence anyway, so why worsen things by making the players fear crowd reaction?

December 15, 2024 at 1:28 pm #295596People in various jobs in all walks of life are put under pressure at work if they’re not performing well enough. There is a simple solution to ease the pressure and I’m hoping that’s what will happen.

December 15, 2024 at 2:38 pm #295599Though most people in jobs don’t have members of the public shouting at them for any mistakes, chanting “get the data analyst out” or “sort out the spreadsheet numbers, you twit” at the end of a shift, and if they did it would only make things worse.

December 15, 2024 at 2:41 pm #295600Silence shows an indication of acceptance.
Works both ways with results Siderite happy clappers and all.
But ironic with 64 hating Whitehall and yet his goals yesterday kept his love child in a job.
Most fans have wanted for Butler to be good and support him it’s in everyone’s interest at the end of the day but you can only carry it on for so long before fans turn, even on tuther side loyal of loyal Charity Stu is nearly there on wanting Butler out so that shows how far we’ve being taken down by Butler.
December 15, 2024 at 2:47 pm #295601“Silence shows an indication of acceptance.”
I don’t think it does. Players aren’t idiots; they know that if they are met with silence at the end of the game, with no clapping, the fans aren’t thinking they did a good job.
December 15, 2024 at 9:16 pm #295607Think you’ve hit the tone perfectly there, Siderite; My version would be you criticise without being a c*nt about it.
The 2 big things Butler appears to have in his favour are the board, and the players seem to be behind him. If a siege mentality is required to start getting a tune out of the squad then so be it.
Interesting to note a few managers seem to have struggled this weekend; Chester manager getting wound up with the Brackley lot and Holloway having his usual meltdown.

December 15, 2024 at 11:31 pm #295609A manager with no confidence. How can he instill confidence in the players.
December 16, 2024 at 12:03 pm #295614“so that shows how far we’ve being (sic) taken down by Butler.”
We are second in the league.
Please explain.
December 16, 2024 at 12:59 pm #295615I think awaywego is saying Stuart’s opinions are some sort of barometer of Butler’s standing? He is after all, the Iron Oracle, as everyone knows.

December 16, 2024 at 1:42 pm #295617Second in the league and we went up from fourth ironironiron, and that kind of performance is only acceptable once or twice in a season and any playoff game where a win at all cost mentality would do, not twice in succession and numerous times before.
Im pissed off with it as are most, so stuff ya second in the League if that’s the best Butler can offer.

Is he going to do a Video calling for Butler’s head? Seems to be his thing.
December 16, 2024 at 5:10 pm #295619If he does, I hope it doesn’t end up with unseemly offers of a face off with commenters, like it did in the Hilton era.
December 16, 2024 at 5:22 pm #295621It won’t end with an apology, like the rest of the Hilton fan losers.I reckon they need better jobs or more hobbies, they have too much time to fester and find new ways they think justifies their hatred and bile.Like you say Deery, nothing Butler does will be good enough .I love reading them posting pleasure at winning ,like a bitter fool with gritted teeth. They
hate a win.
At the last home game as I was leaving one of thes swivel eyed loons was spewing abuse then shouting “Andy” to try catch Butler’s attention so he could spew bile into his face he even had a girl waiting behind him..He was a red faced moron and actually had white foam at the corner of his mouth. He for me,represents all these online idiots crying at being second in the league.Absolute losersDecember 16, 2024 at 5:51 pm #295624At the last home game as I was leaving one of thes swivel eyed loons was spewing abuse then shouting “Andy” to try catch Butler’s attention so he could spew bile into his face he even had a girl waiting behind him..He was a red faced moron and actually had white foam at the corner of his mouth. He for me,represents all these online idiots crying at being second in the league.Absolute losers

Carefully what you wish for….
I am not keen on Butler, and wasn’t happy with his appointment, but we don’t have loads of cash to splash around and (despite his style) we are still “up there”.
He isn’t going anywhere this season, so let’s hope that he sees the error of his ways and somehow becomes a tactical genius.

December 16, 2024 at 6:40 pm #295628And i love your vitriol posts about Whitehall, Clunan and Dean. 64 lol.
At least i gave Butler a chance even if was for only ten games, and you?December 16, 2024 at 7:10 pm #295630I’ve just searched Stuart Maw on X and the top result is “Stuart was an antisemite and Nazi enthusiast”
Well I wasn’t expecting that!

December 16, 2024 at 7:44 pm #295631Well he did say he did some bad things in the past on that blog of his you put up CMC and he said lately he was a political activist.
And now he’s a charity worker, depends whether people can forgive other people’s misgivings, the flock didn’t with Hilton.
There’s many a wrong un in those stands at glanny park, nowing my past im an angel compared to many.December 16, 2024 at 7:57 pm #295632Were Marine big or small at the back?
December 16, 2024 at 9:18 pm #295634I doubt he was a Nazi enthusiast. I sourced the tweet and they are talking about Irish writer, Francis Stuart.
Many of ‘the flock’ still seemed to back Hilton after the fraud ‘rumour’ was confirmed, with many sycophantic comments on the Facebook group. The worm turned when more shady behaviour, CCJs and laughable excuses for not paying staff (with a clear sign his mismanagement was risking the club again) came to light.

December 16, 2024 at 10:06 pm #2956353 points is 3 points but listening on the wireless it sounded like an 80 minute extension of the Alfreton game with a very soft penalty to gift us the win.
Any positives that could be taken from the game (and aside from the result there were very few) were subsequently obliterated by Butler’s PR disaster-class Humberside interview. A very foolish move which only serves to reinforce the view that he’s not that bright. Make no mistake, the disdain he showed Turner, was equally directed towards the fans. Throw in the post match summary ‘outside noise’ comment and the approach appears to be bollocks to unity and the fans that raised tens of thousands to save the club and buy a record number of season tickets. The win somewhat papers the cavernous cracks, but it’s clear to all that his days are numbered.
From Alfreton, the worst game seen at GP in most of our lifetimes, to this week’s worst interview ever given by an SUFC manager? Who needs Santa Claus when Butler is the gift that keeps on giving this festive season.

Well I wasn’t expecting that!
From what I know of Stuart (extended family link), his polital leanings are very much on the opposite side of the spectrum. Certainly not Nazi.
December 16, 2024 at 11:31 pm #295637Breaking news, Butler had invited Turner to personally attend his next half-time talk, that way he can report on it verbatim. Also in his next interview if it’s a bad first half performance, he’s going to ignore a winning result and talk for the full four minutes plus about negatives only.
December 17, 2024 at 6:33 am #295638Let’s nip this in the bud right now,Stuart Maw is
not a Nazi or anti Semite. I haven’t spoken to him since his attacks on Iron fan,but cannot accept him.being called the above. His politics were left wing which usually means”woke” to idiots. -
