Just seen Bunker has tone back? Was it only a month’s loan – shame as he was one of the better players

On his Instagram. Shame as he was putting in some solid displays; however, centre mid is our most congested position so it gives a chance for Whitehorse and Shrimpton to battle it out for the spot.

Bunker is/was streets ahead of those two. What a shitter with not having him to call upon, he’s been quality right from the off. That certainly won’t make things any easier.

It makes sense why they’ve done it. Forest Green are rock bottom and certs to be relegated so most likely want to see what a match fit Harvey Bunker adds to them for their next season in league two.

Sad to see him go though, he’s was one who you just expected to see a good performance from. Bunkers been a mainstay in that shielding position in front of defence.

Who else is capable of taking his place, Whitehouse ?

Not too sure on Whitehouse and Pugh partnering up. Shrimpton’s more box to box. Fewster’s more attack minded.

might have to go 442 now rather than the 4231 as Bunker was miles ahead in quality

And hey-presto! The frailties of the loan system become apparent.

Shame I was really warming to him and I believe Jimmy would now have him down as one of the first names on the team sheet. However he is on loan from Forest Green and they are quite within their rights to recall him if they wish, good luck Harvey and thanks for your efforts. Time for someone else in the squad to step forward and take their chance and we have options in that position.

Not in that shielding role we haven’t. Only Pugh and Whitehouse who could play there wo are fit.

We may have to go to just the 1 sitter in Pugh and play somebody slightly ahead of him or go to a more conventional 4/3/3. 4/3/3 makes more sense Butterfield, Pugh and Whitehouse ?

Shrimpton won’t be match fit and Fewster got picked the other game out of nowhere and looked miles off it.

    SUFC twitter:-

⚽️ On-loan midfielder Harvey Bunker has returned to parent club Forest Green Rovers after they activated their 28-day recall clause on his youth loan to the Iron.

Could get worse, I think Barrow have a similar option on Bennett. Let’s hope Jimmy and Gerry can kiss and make up just in case.

Think you try and over complicate things sometimes WG. Whitehouse and Shrimpton can play both there, no problem.

I’d especially want to see Shrinpton have another run of games before the end of the year because I suspect there is a very good player waiting to be unearthed.

Not exactly lacking in options in that position and Bunker was a bit of a Justin Walker, not sure how much of a loss it will be to be honest.

Hilton has replied to someone on Twitter saying they’re looking into a replacement be it on loan or permenant.

Short term loans like that of Bunker, are often used just to get a player fit. So we have done the job for them, and now they have him back and match fit. Typical.

To be fair he did a good job for us while he was here.

If FGR had a first team squad of players better than him they wouldn’t be bottom of League 1.

Probably Duncan Ferguson wanted him back to see what he capable of. Was loaned out before Ferguson arrived.

“Yes, I believe the clubs agreed to announce it officially tomorrow. We are now looking at bringing someone in. Either a loan or permanently if the right player becomes available.”

Cliff, it would be asking a lot from Shrimpton to play that sitting role. Hilton probably thinks the same as he’s looking to get a replacement in !

Shrimpton will be a mile off in terms of match fitness. I do like him as a player though but not in that shielding role. I know Bunker was young buy physically was a beast and played as if he was may older than he was.
