How long before a bump in the road becomes a pothole.
We are top of National North and have scored more goals than any other team, whilst conceding 11 only one more than Curzon Ashton who have played 3 games less.
Most of us are disgruntled with the playing style and lack of tactics, coupled with a lack of striker to partner and compliment Whitehall.
The need to not lose is also costing us dearly. Trying not to concede when winning by a slender margin then drawing is costing us (Chorley and Oxford), poor 0-0 draws (Chester and Radcliffe) more points dropped.
Defeats of 3-2 in the last two away games which account for more than half of our goals conceded. The first of which we absolutely threw away. The other defeat away at Scarborough was a poor game where we failed to compete at all.
Due to our managers negativity and lack of sustained attacking pressure (unlike Tamworth last season) the opposition do not fear us and feel free to have a go.
We need to set the bar so teams after conceding think how to contain us not as they do now how to mount a comeback.
Our fan base, playing squad and resources count for nothing if we continue to play like mice and not lions.
The current strategy is not working and the manager thinks hard work will put right his failings.
Sorry but unless we get change we will need to change.
That bump is getting bigger.

You’re working from a false premise. The current state of things IS the road, and the bump in it was the 6-0 win against Farsley Celtic.
November 6, 2024 at 2:12 pm #293141It’s not just a bump, we were coasting downhill and now we’re facing a long, uphill climb which, it seems, we’re not equipped to deal with. It looks like we’re going downhill rapidly. Different methods needed for downhill vs uphill maybe?

November 6, 2024 at 2:25 pm #293142Another cliche sound bite. You are generous with ‘pothole’ ironking… could soon be sinkhole.

November 6, 2024 at 3:07 pm #293150The car keeps breaking down. I blame the garage for using cheap parts from China.

November 12, 2024 at 11:16 am #293695What league position do posters think we will be in by the next time we play our next league game?
With the games tonight and next Tuesday we can fall to 6th place. Ever the optimist I’ll go for 6th, that’ll be some bump.November 12, 2024 at 11:32 am #293697I have been somewhat critical of how the team has been handled. Nonetheless, I have, thus far expressed my desire to keep AB.
If I find us playing this same rubbish at the end of our non-league game fortnight, I shall be forced to change my attitude.
I may matter little as a single voice supporter but my winter visits to the AA which are already reduced coz I feel the cold pretty badly on current tablets – will no longer be reduced.
They will be non-existent. -
