March 23, 2022 at 10:46 am #234107My grandson and his other grandad. Their making a weekend of it on the train going to Cadburys world on the Sunday now that bit is tempting.

March 23, 2022 at 10:47 am #234108I’ll be there. Wembley victory to a final day relegation at Bristol. Got to take the highs with the lows I guess. Might be the only time my little boy sees scunthorpe play in the league.

Cadbury World is deffo worth a visit, quite ironically four of us visited the place on the Sunday after we had won promotion the previous day at Shrewsbury back in 2005. How times change eh but at least your grandson will enjoy his time at Bournville.

Homer Simpson once visited the Land Of Chocolate but unfortunately, rather like yesterday’s chairman podcast, the content was just a daydream.
March 23, 2022 at 1:48 pm #234118I bought 2 180g bars of Cadbury Orange chocolate on Monday for a £1 and 2 Aeros same size for £1.20 so will keep me going for a short while.
March 23, 2022 at 5:46 pm #234125He calls them the chocolate team
Cause he thinks they melt in the second half.We know they’re the chocolate team
Cause they’re broken up and swallowed
And wrapped in bits of s…..!With apologies to Deacon Blue!
March 23, 2022 at 6:17 pm #234127Let’s get back on subject. Even though it will most probably the last EFL game of my lifetime I won’t be there. Nor will I be there next season until there are changes made at the top, although I was interested to hear on the podcast that our beloved chairman said that if we achieved season ticket sales of 1800 to 2000 we would have a budget that would have us competing towards the top of the national league. If I believed that for a second I would renew, but I don’t so I won’t.

March 23, 2022 at 10:44 pm #234137We can’t get 1800 in the ground on match day now and that’s with the pay on the day fans plus last minute additions, he’s deluded, living in a different universe to the normal fan.

March 23, 2022 at 11:21 pm #234138I will not be going to Bristol, being 81 as it is too far for me to drive, but I shall attend the last home Football League match against Hartlepool, all being well, looking at ifollower coverage, my I32 seat in the Cluggy is still not taken, I hope that a few of my friends that sat in that area will possibly attend, at the moment all seats are empty.
I attended Scunny’s first League game in 1951, and many, many hundreds of matches since, and if I included away attendance, it would probably run into thousands, I still have an Evening Telegraph photo of me in a crowd on Henderson Ave waiting to get my ticket for the match in 1950, I was ten years old at that time, those were happy days.

March 24, 2022 at 12:12 pm #234154Really glad your going to the last home match BS, I am sure it was an hard thing to do not going this season especially early on, pretty easy now though I would imagine. The club should be inviting you and others who saw the first lge game as guests and make it a special day for you. In the absence of that I would like to buy your match ticket for you as my appreciation for being such a loyal fan down the years.

March 24, 2022 at 4:14 pm #234156I’m going with a few of us as we have mates In Bristol – but just to say goodbye to league football, that might be it for me. Certainly not giving Swann another penny moving forward, cry all you like about affecting the squad/ability to compete – that’s on the Chairman who is a despicable human being

Well your post is still up namesake fair play to ya, thought the last line might have fallen foul of the moderators delete pen. Still time but good for you for saying how you feel.

March 24, 2022 at 6:12 pm #234160The guy has spent enough money to cripple the club, taken the assets in return and consigned us to non league – all the while coming out with soundbites about best interests of the club and its COVID’s fault, its the stay away fans fault the squad is good enough just had some bad luck. He can’t be bothered to turn up anymore – he’s talking to three or four parties (well which is it? Its not hard to know whether its three or four). He has single handedly ruined a community asset banned the local press, banned others, threatened fans with legal action – but the podcasts and interviews would suggest he’s always doing the best for the club – but taking out an EFL loan to allow it to survive. He shouldn’t be anywhere near a football club, I’ve no idea how his casino is going or the James Bond bar, or his horses but quite frankly I just want to feel an attachment to the club which he has single handedly removed from me and over 1,000 others – directly or indirectly. But he will tell you its a small minority of fans who feel like me – it may well be from those left in the ground but I doubt it.

March 24, 2022 at 11:58 pm #234162may make a small suggestion … any one attending both the last home or away fixture should wear black clothing and or black arm bands, this would send a message to SWann as it appears hes taking this event rather well like the death of a pet rabbit (not that he gives a shit its just how to grab the asset money now)..a small and easy thing to do ..if every turned up in respectful black its a sign of fan solidarity against the owners.
im currently overseas and will don my funeral attire for both fixtures as IMO this relegation is the demise of the club ive supported since i was 10 years old.1 user thanked author for this post.

Thanks for your kind words Awaywego, but over so many years there have been some great times, not all seasons were like these past three years at our club. I appreciate your ticket offer pal, but as Iron-awe has said so often, working overseas for so long and in his words “not being a tax payer” finance is not a problem mate, but it was a kind offer from you.
Good luck and I just hope the club has better times ahead, it is very sad what has happened to our once great little club, but total mis-management has brought about our big spiral into non-league.
