It’s about time Biden’s silly restrictions were lifted, so that Ukraine can defend itself like any other nation under attack would.

I have seen people going on about WWIII, but they said the same when Ukraine was given HIMARS, when Ukraine launched an incursion into Kursk, when they made targeted strikes in Crimea and when we helped Ukraine at all. WWIII didn’t happen then and it highly likely won’t happen now. Russia considers Crimea and the territory gained in the Donbas to be Russian soil, where British weapons have been used, and in the neighbouring Belgograd and Kursk regions. Russia hasn’t responded to that, so I don’t see them making a major response now because targets further into Russia are now possible. What’s more is that many of those talking of ‘escalation’ now were quiet when Russia used Iranian armaments and started drafting in North Korean soldiers. It’s only the side we’re allied with that’s expected to restrict itself severely, which just gives advantage to Russia in its attempts to play empire.

Frankly, with the uncertainties in the USA, Europe will now have to play a greater role in assuring European defence for the benefit of ourselves and Ukraine. There’s a reason why Poland, Finland, Sweden, Romania and the Baltic states are ramping up military spending, so if Putin succeeds in land grabs we face more upheaval, not less.

Wonder if the French were uncomfortable with their weapons bombing British soil in the Falklands?
