It might show how far we’ve fallen, but letting your top scorer for the last two seasons go when you’re in a relegation scrap is suicide.

He might not be consistent, he might be infuriating to watch sometimes, but he was the most likely scorer on any given week.

£50k is nothing. 100 extra fans a week gets us that. He might’ve been disillusioned but it’s a manager’s job to motivate the players!

Good riddance to one of the worst strikers I’ve seen in an Iron shirt. Can’t control a football, can’t pass, can’t shoot, barely wins any headers for his size, tries taking on the world with the ball at his feet…can’t believe folks on here see anything in him. Kyle Wootton was/is twice the player and that’s saying something!

Walk in the club reception area and the picture on the wall shows how far the club has fallen, the scoreboard in the picture shows “SUFC 1 – Newcastle 0”.

Loft clearly didn’t want to be here so he as well gone, although given past players tend to come back and score against us I hope there is a clause in the contract that he cant play against us this season.

The £11 million was written off, but £50,000 will help knock some off our our current debt.

    Nope.
He took the ground and land in payment.
A despicable act since his mismanagement ran up the debt.

    You hope?
But given the utter incompetence of those now running the club, would you bet on it?

To be replaced by a 19 who’s not played League Football if rumours are true.
Bristol Fan said fee was £50 K.

Swann preparing us for non league football?

This young lad that has come in isn’t the striker that’s supposed to replace Loft. According to what I’ve seen online we got in touch with Blackburn about Burns a little over a week ago and it was only 3 or 4 days ago since Swann commented about Loft staying.

Swann replied “we will only let Ryan go when we find a suitable replacement” so if we were so unsure about letting him go before finding someone else, I highly doubt the replacement is Burns.

I suspect we have another striker on the backburner who will be coming in, most likely before the weekend.

    Burnie, Burnie, Burnie…
You’re believing what Swann says again.
    Wake up, man.

WG, I do hope you are correct but I fear you are not. However it was rumoured there may be 4/5 incoming so who knows but I could see Hill walking if there isn’t.

Don’t allow Alcazar to wear you down ! lol

This is what reported Charlie Wilson posted earlier on Twitter.

“Scunthorpe United are looking to bring in at least three loan players – Sam Burns likely being the first.”

“They also hope a few targets will find ways to become free agents, allowed to leave their contracts to sign for Iron on a free.”

Going by that, another 3 or 4 are due to come in.

The ground and land worth £11 million pull the other one, far easier for a new owner to come in with a debt of £2-3 million pound debt than one of £11-14 mill debt, the only change would be not owning the ground just the same as most other clubs.

    Told you !

We were in for him before the uncertainty over letting Loft go. I suspect we’ll have somebody in before weekend.

I completely understand that school of thought and there’s definitely something to it but you have to remember that he’s scored only 4 goals this season, 1 of which was a penalty and 1 was clearly an own goal. Scrimshaw has scored 3 and I don’t think anyone would be gutted if his loan was cancelled.

    What????
    Wake up man!
Have you never heard the magic phrases?
“We can’t stand in the lad’s way. He’s going to (insert any slightly relevant pap here)***

**” eg: a bigger club, a higher league, a richer club, a club with more ambition etc etc.

One of the bits he seemingly made up. Simon Elliot didn’t have a clue about the section we hoping to clubs to release players for us to sign on free transfers.

I suspect Max Bell “The Annoying Carrot Top” has been spouting drivel again. I think he’s still hurt since Swann kicked him to the curb.

“Have you never heard the magic phrases?” Yep, about 50 times from you!

Said at the start of the season that if Loft was our main striker we were doomed. His reputation seems to have gone up in the few hours since he left.

There have even been a few “good” comments. He was crap and one of the worst strikers I have seen.

Slim pickings when it comes to analysing Loft’s goals in an Iron shirt this season. His volleyed finish in the FA Cup just edges it for me though. Absolute belter.

I wouldn’t put Loft in the crap category, no where near. I’d put him in the “can’t be arsed club”

Nobody can possibly argue against the fact he has talent.

Maybe you’ll end up throwing a party if we’re relegated come the end of the season.

You come across as the clever pillock that will do something like that just so you’re able to brag that were right.

You’re a complete and utter toss pot !

Toni Ameobi – can’t recall a worse player I’ve had the misfortune of watching turn out for us, it’s a long list but he’s definitely up there.

    Oooh, that’s just nasty.
The word is posstot anyway, ask BA.

Throw a party? No, I’ll be as upset as most.
But I will expect, though won’t receive, a few apologies.

I’ve ALWAYS told it as I’ve seen it.
If that’s not what you want to hear, sorry.

Read a couple of articles stating Loft
links up play well and has good ball control. They are probably his 2 worst assets.

Our local journalist’s are about as accurate as our strikers these days
