The OWS says that we beat them 7-1 the last time we played them.

How do you see tomorrow going?

I think Jamie just packed in. He was fairly prolific as a junior & youth team player.

Jordan Thewliss is mentioned in the report but isn’t listed in the 1st half or 2nd half eleven.

Jordan will be 31 in October and is with Alfreton Town.

    Today will be interesting.
If rumours are to be believed, and I must stress that they are only rumours and I’ve seen no evidence one way or another.
Let’s see how many of the new signing play today at Brigg.

    I hope it’s just a rumour.

If true, what will the excuse be?

They have all been hit by covid/flu/many injuries?
Iron Bru hounded them out with scare stories?
There’s been a slight delay in player registration, but it’s nothing to worry about; it will be sorted by Monday?
    Something else?

At 3 o’clock today the rumours currently circulating will be proved to be correct or incorrect.
I hope they’re just rumours with no substance but in recent months many of these rumours are eventually confirmed as true.

Pray tell with me livin tother side of the world what is the word on the street .. the rumour ??

Some of the new signings got cold feet .. done a runner .. unable to be registered ??

i pulled this snippet off the SUFC website ..i note the word HOPE

“””Manager Jimmy Dean will HOPE to show off his new-look Scunthorpe squad with a whole host of additions such as Callum Roberts, Ross Barrows, Michael Clunan and a further eight signings that have all bolstered the team so far this summer.***

Firstly,AFAIK a player doesn’t have to be registered to play in a friendly.
I wasn’t aware of the quote from Dean but the word “Hope” maybe suggests that the rumours may have substance.
    We’ll find out this afternoon.

Ok cheers .. forgot its a friendly so not regd dont matter.

I HOPE i win the lottery so i can buy the club and also GP etc , shouldnt overlook the small issue of needing a place to play should we.

Dont suppose the Brigg game will be on radio or the net ???

Unregistered players might be able to play in a friendly. However I guess (and I stress guess) that they wouldn’t be insured so a serious injury could be a disaster for a player. Maybe Jimmy’s HOPE means he hopes enough players will be prepared to take a chance. I think we’ve got enough from last season for a starting 11 but Mussy & Butler could be among the subs. (BTW I hope my guess is wrong.)

Pretty sure within one of White’s posts on Facebook over the last few days he said the new players were in the process of being registered by the new club secretary, which perhaps indicates they all haven’t yet?

I suspect that may be it, Deerey. From there some have maybe speculated that they won’t be playing today because of that.

Remember Ramon Calliste ? Signed by Laws from Liverpool, broke his ankle in a preseason game at Brigg and I’m pretty sure that basically ended his career.
It would be very risky for unregistered player to play.
Should be registered to play though by now, surely ?

With the exception of Roberts all the new “signings” were more than a month ago. Doesn’t look good for the efficiency of the new secretary.
    Who is it BTW?

When the new players were signed didn’t it state their contracts started from 1st July? Does that mean their registration starts from then, I don’t know, just saying 🤔

Been on the Facebook site no sign of Mr White anymore and his posts. I do hope I’m right, not the place for an owner imo.

To play in a game for a club, the player must be either:

    Registered
On trial & registered as a trialist
    On loan
    On loan

I note that Brigg drew 2-2 away at Frickley on Tuesday evening.
Jack Boswell was on the scoresheet for them.
I always wondered how he was making his Bread these days.
Aye, aye… watch out, here comes Joey!
