I imagine there are lots on this site who remember the golden years when Brian Laws was manager.Fabulous atmosphere, goals galore, constant goalmouth action, even in defeat enjoyable games.Nearly 400 home league goals in about ten years,4,5,6 and 7 scorelines ,only something we could dream about now. Sometimes route one football but in a terrifically exciting watch.Crowds entertained and talk afterwards making those not there wishing they had been.
All teams playing the same as each other, trying to copy Man City!! doesn’t work.
Come on Coxy change this boring style and try copying the “Brian Laws style”!!

I agree the excitement then was much more than it is now. Cleveland Taylor, Hodges and Beagrie provided the fun and games. Torpey was a lunatic at times but was hard as nails.

I’m scared to think what would have happened to Hodges though under Cox….on those mazy runs forward, he’d probably have got waved back again.

Just one example- Cheltenham scored their first two goals from two “Alan Boxall” throw-ins yesterday. You can imagine young football fans turning to their Dad and asking “Is that allowed!”
