A lot of turkey’s that voted for Christmas gobbling away on the news today. Probably not even the ones suffering most from the omnishambles. It’s good that they’ve seen what a big mistake it was voting to leave the EU but do we have to hear their whinging so much? In the words of Paul Weller: ‘you made your bed, you better lie in it’.

And a reminder of how well it’s going below – who’d have thought voting for such a monumental change would be so disastrous under a government headed up Boris Johnson?

Don’t forget it was all about sovereignty for everyone, right from the start. Which is why they often focussed their arguments on economic booms and opportunities from Brexit.

Oh, and it’s ok because you should see how bad it is comparably in Germany and France, who are much worse than us, in the EU bloc which will crumble any day now:

‘Sovereignty’! Ha ha!! Someone on BBC News listing the reasons she voted Leave can’t even pronounce it properly. What a joke.

I don’t want to be too snobbish about it. I can understand the sovereignty argument. At the same time, there are many who have portrayed it solely as such when they made economic arguments themselves, and hide behind the sovereignty canard to dismiss any economic concerns, which I find risible.

When do you think we’ll leave?

Given we’re no longer in the EU this is a daft question.

When do you think we’ll leave?

I refer you to the quote by Paul Weller posted earlier, don’t worry you might be dead soon and then it’s only your kids and grand kids that have to worry. Only paradise awaits you, the rest of us are pretty much ****ed.

31 Jan 2020. That day you were waving your Union Jack and telling anyone who’d listen that ‘we’ve got our country back!’

Still amazes me that her husband thought filming it himself was in his favour. Racist cretins.

It’s always worth reading what the BBC has to say on Brexit and this is from the website today:

“There was an initial dip in the amount the UK exported to the EU. Once teething problems were dealt with, trade volumes, recovered to pre-pandemic levels, according to official figures. But it could be argued trade might have grown more if it hadn’t been for Brexit.”

It might also be argued that trade might have fallen had we remained.

All you lot are doing is the usual nonsense based on confirmation bias. In reality we have no idea and claiming “experts” know the answer is also pure nonsense.

I don’t know why Bucks is talking about confirmation bias, when implying logical fallacies is apparently quasi-intellectualism and BBC type guff. I suppose it’s ok when he does it.

What would you do without the publicly funded impartial BBC?

One article when you can find 100s of articles and respected organisations that tell a different story on the Tory Brexit disaster.

And he talks of others with confirmation bias. Bucks is of course immune to such, and others pointing out logical fallacies with him have an ‘agenda’ or agree with so called ‘experts’. Moral of the story is that it’s impossible to disagree with Bucks and be in good faith or credible. Anyone who disagrees thinks they’re above their station and are an ‘expert’. What we should be doing is agreeing with the sole voice of reason on any subject.

Buck’s never mentioned the British shrinking economy growth forecast, indeed a negative this year whilst other leading economies, including a struggling Russia are all growing by a significant margin, that was in the BBC report too. Typical PR, only deliver the bits of the argument that suit your agenda, never tell the whole story, he was born to be a Tory old big head.

They’ve all had the same memo. When the forecasts are bad, it’s the forecasters that are wrong, not their awful Government.

It’s like with religion. Any criticism – just say it’s wrong.
Just have faith in the idea/policy/deity, and it will never be falsified.

It’s all well and good Bucks trying to argue that trade volumes may, or may not have recovered. But that’s akin to saying things are the same now as on 31/1/20.

The country has lost £40 billion in that time and GDP is down by 5.5%.

Some price to pay for what we had before eh?

Let’s hear about something we didn’t have before. You know, a benefit. Like that extra £350 million a week for the NHS!

The exports are largely driven by increasing exports of gas and fuel following the war in Ukraine, as Europe seeks alternative means to Russian gas. The trade in goods and services, besides energy, is still struggling quite a bit and is still on the decline.

In 3 years we have thrown away an open trade agreement with our nearest markets, lost the right to live and work across Europe, threatened the peace and hard-earned stability in Ireland, caused mass labour shortages, crisis in the NHS and as NI points out seen decline in a range of industries and services.

All because the Tories couldn’t stand up to the nutters and tell the British public that tax paying hardworking EU citizens were good for local businesses, services and the wider economy.

And the madness continues. This week Cruella Braverman said the priority was to stop the boat people or the Tories would lose the election. Wrong priority and wrong reason why!!

Stop releasing murderers and rapists early from prison with no supervision, sort out legal routes for asylum seekers and process them in weeks not years. Other countries manage this and end up accepting far fewer for permanent settlement than the UK does.

    Set of lazy, useless gobshites.

Another Brexit disaster. Project Fear becomes reality again.

“He described Brexit as a “historic error of monumental proportions” and said the new data on Oxford and Cambridge – usually the top performers in Europe – was “very worrying”. The losses reached beyond money, he added, with the UK also becoming less attractive to high-quality European researchers and students”.
