I don’t know which way this will go, if we play like we did against Oldham we have a chance, if we played like we did against Southend we will get hammered.
March 22, 2021 at 4:53 pm #203754Unfortunately I can’t see us winning as we don’t seem to be able to score many goals at present, but I have been wrong before.
March 22, 2021 at 4:58 pm #203756but who was expecting a performance like Saturday after a good performance against a decent Oldham team.
March 22, 2021 at 6:53 pm #203761O’Malley is unavailable for tomorrow due to international call up. (Congratulations BTW young man)
Cox says many of the players are “leggy” after a lot of games in a short period of time.
Wouldn’t it have made sense to play O’Malley on Saturday and play a fresh Brown tomorrow? Just a thought.March 22, 2021 at 7:43 pm #203765O’Malley is unavailable for tomorrow due to international call up. (Congratulations BTW young man)

Get out, line up near to 442 and go for it from 1st whistle.
March 23, 2021 at 12:37 pm #203777Win it and we are safe so I hope they go all out for the win. Have a little break and then play the last 10 games with no worries.
March 23, 2021 at 2:13 pm #203778Yep I will settle for your assessment fi, also worth a mention if Barrow beat our local rivals tonight then the Cods will be well and truly GUTTED and FILLETED although I suspect they are already down.

March 23, 2021 at 6:10 pm #2037830-0 tonight.
March 23, 2021 at 6:14 pm #203784Interesting team selection, no clarke after ban overturn and in come the unfit ony and the out for the season taft. Who saw that coming?
March 23, 2021 at 6:18 pm #203785Scratch that i was looking at sky sports app and it had the team from the suspended game. They have updated it now and its quite a bit different
March 23, 2021 at 6:52 pm #203786doesn’t fill me with confidence and it looks like another 4-4-1-1. So with my predictive abilities we’ll probably win even though I’m going for a 2-0 Bradford
March 23, 2021 at 6:56 pm #203787Not sure we’ll get much out of this one tonight….my heart say’s a plucky ‘backs to the wall’ 1-0 win, my head say’s 2-0 defeat.
March 23, 2021 at 7:11 pm #203789At least my predictive abilities are consistent
March 23, 2021 at 7:30 pm #203790Worrying about what they are doing again! Cox is so frustrating sometimes.
March 23, 2021 at 8:26 pm #203794Green has put in a good shift…
March 23, 2021 at 9:25 pm #203795Massive improvement from Saturday, it could have been 8-8, how we kept some of their chances out was remarkable and their keeper made some good saves as well, impressed with Howard, Howe, Clarke, Bedeau and Eisa and nobody had a bad game, another couple of wins should see us safe but just a pity about Saturdays performance, I thought the referee was pretty good also.
March 23, 2021 at 9:28 pm #203796Great result and not a bad performance. Defended really well at the end to just about keep the clean sheet in tact!
March 23, 2021 at 9:35 pm #203798The lads put in a good shift tonight and came away with the 3 points. They ride their luck at times and Bradford hit the woodwork 3 tumes and pronably two or three good chances, but after saying that, Scunny scored two good goals and also missed a few chances, but I think that we just shaded the game.
HOWARD—5—His kicking is terrible, and test your nerves a few times, no saves to make.
BROWN–6—Played ok although being injured during the 1st half.
BEDEAU—8—Is getting a good partnership going with Clarke, very good defending throughout.
KARACAN—7—Also played well in midfield, but always does.
HOWE—8—Played very well, he is quick and links up well with Gilliead, great debut.
GILLIEAD—9—MOM tonight, had some great runs, and what a ball for 1st goal.
SPENCE–7—Worked very hard, and full of energy.
CLARKE—8—Has really settled in the centre of our defence, played really well.
GREEN—6—Quick, 2 or 3 good runs, but then falls over, took the goal well.
EISA—7—-Did enough to keep his place, took his goal well.
LOFT—5—Had a stinker, lost the ball, or poor passes from him.REF—8—A ggod ref who was not drawn to diving players, noy an easy game to ref really.
COX—6—Did ok, but still a defensive system, but is limited with the players we havw available, very pleasing to see Howe perform well, he stood out, and will be a good signing.
A good performance by the lads, but the 2-0 score lime could have been 5-4 with the chances both teams had. Enough points to call ourselves safe for this season, Gilliead, How and Kanacan need long term contracts sorting out, but Gilliead is Champiuonship level really, and far too good for Leagues 1 or 2.—

March 23, 2021 at 9:46 pm #203799Not sure if signing Howe is an option, as he’s only here on loan from Blackpool.
Good performance from him tonight though, so I’d be in favour of bringing him in at the end of the season to replace Clarke. Can’t see Blackpool releasing him if he performs well for us though.
Bloody delighted with the result as it gives me bragging rights over my Bantam mate for a couple of weeks.
Thought we defended well and Cox used his late subs sensibly. Much happier than Saturday!
March 23, 2021 at 9:57 pm #203800I don’t know how you give Howard 5 Barton, he kept a clean sheet and made a good block save near the end, I base a keeper on his saves and not on where he kicks the ball unless it is to a oncoming forward, a keeper who keeps finding his man is a bonus, I am not knocking anyone tonight because the all put a shift in and you couldn’t say that against Southend.
I agree with you on the referee, he was excellent.
March 23, 2021 at 11:05 pm #203806“COX—6—Did ok, but still a defensive system, but is limited with the players we havw available”.
It was based on defence, but for the first time in weeks there did seem to be a plan. Instead of the brainless hoof ball they did pass the ball and counter attack. Enjoyed the game for a change. Loft would have been a 3 from me, but he did win one header and Green scored.

March 24, 2021 at 12:16 am #203811Mick, As I have said many times friend, everyone has his or her opinion of players performances on the day, in my opinion Howard is a nightmare, today he did keep a clean sheet, but Bradford missed a few sitters, they hit the woodwork three times, and the save you are on about Mick, the ball hit him on the body because of a bad shot of theirs. To be honest mate did you not think that Bradford had scored on two occasions??? because I certaimly did, the fact is Mick, that he did not really make a save worth noting, and a 5 is an average score for a very average performance.
Anyway if you agree with ten of my ratings, I will settle for that ha ha!, but Howard really did have a very average match, and had another feck up with Clarke, and Hull KR scouts were spotted in the stands, they must be after a new goal kicker!!!!!!!
March 24, 2021 at 2:42 am #203812I am watching Bedeau very closely at the moment.
As he has been given more responsibility in recent weeks, his game has improved. There are fewer errors and he is seeming to read the game better too.
Probably now worth a new contract.March 24, 2021 at 8:05 am #203816A decent night’s entertainment and a solid performance all round. As others have pointed out, Eisa, Gillead, Beadeau and Howe were the stand outs but no-one really had a poor game.
I fear we won’t be seeing Gillead here next season as he surely must realise he’s better than the lower rungs of league 2, seemed to catch the attention of Bradford fans aswell.
March 24, 2021 at 9:06 am #203820Barton 5 is a below average score, 6 is average.

50+ games on loan at Bradford.
Interestingly he’s scored as many goals for us in his 50+ games than he did in his 130+ previous league outings.
March 24, 2021 at 8:08 pm #203874Well last night shows exactly what I know about football…a much needed, and totally unexpected win. At times our goal lived a charmed life, how on earth they didn’t score is beyond me. That said, we had a couple of cracking chances too.
The only downside to last night was that the cods won…mind you, they are probably down and out.
March 24, 2021 at 9:14 pm #203877The Cods scenario is interesting, we all give them stick as local rivals and vice versa but it’s in our financial interests for them to stay up. Any promoted side from the National League we play at home next season will provide slim pickings financially compared to playing the Cods, I presume we will be allowed back in next season to watch.
