Can’t think of a much more meaningless game in the divisions today.

Normally I’d have gone down with my Bantam mate. Beer beforehand, curry afterwards.

But his arse is now glued to a bike saddle and I’ve lost my mojo.

Gone are the days of Dean Windass’s birthday hat trick, Billy Sharp’s winner and Hakeeb’s equaliser.

    1-0 home win!

“Can’t think of a much more meaningless game in the divisions today.”

Maybe that’s why Hullberside have uss on freeview when both the other local teams are playing at home!

Listening to Burnsie this week I think we will be on the online sounds app next season especially if the cods go up.

I find it quite amusing how Hullberside are sucking up to ull now the Allams have gone, showing their true colours I think.

2-0 @ 5/1 is the shortest correct score with the bookies – so I’ll go with that.

Only Scunny could have no shots with none on target, yet we’re losing 2/1 , you couldn’t make it up !!

I remember an away game at Walsall when we had 3 shots on target and Walsall had about 10.

We won 4-1. I think Tom Hopper scored a couple that day.

Doesn’t matter how many lottery tickets you buy. Only winning tickets are worth anything.

Second half commentary from Blunderside suggests the Iron have done ok, particularly the younsters.

After a crazy opening five minutes, we began to gradually get a foothold and even pulled a goal back.
From then on, we played really well and matched Bradford for the rest of the game.
    Spine the issue again.
A decent CB alongside Delaney, a midfield general and a proper forward – there’d have been a strong chance of an Iron win – even with all the youngsters.
Beestin looked best I’ve seen him in ages. Moore-Bilham and Gallimore were excellent. All other young uns put in a shift.
    Rory was terrific.

    They were wrong!!

“Beestin looked best I’ve seen him in ages.” Agree 100%
“Moore-Bilham and Gallimore were excellent.” M-B was OK, Gallimore barely seen.
“All other young uns put in a shift.” But not as footballers! Young given a roasting, Wilson looked lost.
    “Rory was terrific.” Agree again.
I really wish these youngsters gave me some optimism but if we’re pinning our hopes for next season on them then we’ll be down again.

Well twenty seconds gone and effectively game over we thought, after 5 mins thought and hoped we would record our record defeat, to clapping them off at the end, funny old game well done lads for a change battled really hard. Anybody else who went thought the stand was going to give way with the bouncing, well dodgy imo.

Well, ONE POINT in our past NINE LEAGUE MATCHES, what a bloody record to leave the football league with, so this is not a good way, no skill, no idea, very little fight in some of the players, and to top things up, the Manager comes out with “Some of the players did not want to play in case they get injured”, can anyone think this is acceptable without being shown the door at once??

I am just wondering what the club actually said to these players in reply, I do not accept that this statement by the manager is true!!!, and the club actually want supporters to keep turning up to watch the one’s that do not mind playing, Scunthorpe United as a club have really turned septic.

Really awaywego99, Scunny had just lost to a team that had not won since January, was it such a great performance, and our goal keeper was again MOM ???

Points and wins are of no relevance, BS – they haven’t been for ages.
All that matters is putting in ‘good minutes’ for inexperienced players.

(I do agree with CT about Wilson, though. But to be fair he tried his guts out.)

I don’t think that there is any hidden plan to put out loadsa youth in the team for the NL next season. That would be committing harakiri.

Do O’Malley and Rowe (as FBs, of course) even count any more?

1/2 youngsters who have learned what it’s about in recent months and 7 or 8 experienced players is a good team balance – especially with 3/4 youngsters on the bench who are not without valid experience.

Under current financial conditions – youth must play some part – and of course, it must not fill the first team.
This is why I wrote elsewhere that we probably need: 8 in with experience. To do this properly means not bringing in expensive 18 year old loanees who don’t care all that much.

It wasn’t a great performance BS but the difference between last week and this was massive, they could quite easily collapsed and got a record defeat but they didn’t so all credit to them, “small steps”. I do hope next week they set a new sequence record of games since a win, Swann, Hill and the team certainly deserve it.

Granted I’m only watching highlights but we seem to be conceding a lot of goals we’re conceding where Delaney is coming out too wide and getting beaten. Happened again on Saturday. Maybe he’s trying too hard with all the youth team players around him? Either way, it doesn’t inspire much confidence.

The answer to that Fe, is probably that alongside Delaney, Jai is not really a CB.
As an occasional patch up due to injuries – maybe.
IMHO, let the lad be the decent FB that he is. What’s more he will surely improve.

A while back Wilson was being painted as the great saviour of our season by some on here, fair to say we were right to leave him at Scarborough?

There has been a tendency from some to have dewy eyes towards our youth as saviours when the more experienced underachieve. I think the recent games show exactly why we shouldn’t rely primarily on youth as our saviours. Sure, bed them in, but they need to be managed carefully.

Throwing them in at the deep end like this is never going to work and will only damage their morale.
