Well deserved.
Roberts and Rowley excellent.
New lad Rose solid home debut
Great first goal Beestin.
Questionable defending to make it a tighter game than it should’ve been.HAVE to follow this up with 2 more home wins in the upcoming week.

January 21, 2025 at 10:38 pm #297710Agree with all that Cliff and I thoroughly enjoyed the game, we played some good stuff at times and yeah the end was a bit nervy after conceding that stupid second which should have been cleared but hey it’s a win and for most of it we were decent . Delighted Beck is finally off the mark ( no pun intended ) it was scrappy but they all count and it won us the game.UTI.

January 21, 2025 at 10:47 pm #297714We made Brackley look very average 2 or 3-0 would have been a fair result, could so easy have ended 3-3 and I honestly think that would have being the final act for Butler, but really pleased for Butler it didn’t.
And will revel in the excellent performance overall, played some lovely football at times just cant understand why we can be so good and then the next be beyond poor.January 22, 2025 at 1:41 am #297724Jeez what a topsy turvy league this really is.
Well done the Iron and a follow up the next two games would be great.
Hope you have a good feeling about next two games Deerey ;)January 22, 2025 at 8:31 am #297735Besides the lapses of concentration, the second half was very enjoyable to watch. First time I’ve been able to say that for a long time.

January 22, 2025 at 9:11 am #297743We seem to have a cushion to midtable, which is good and a surprise since we were told this was our limit based on preseason games.
January 22, 2025 at 9:14 am #297744Manager “expecting to win games” is a dangerous attitude IMO.
January 22, 2025 at 9:17 am #297745Some of our passing sublime, some reminded me of Sheffield Park in the 60’s.
How Torps thought MOM should have been one of the CBs is unbelievable, young Rose was decent though and saved 2 points.1 user thanked author for this post.

You saw Awaywego in his footballing prime?

January 22, 2025 at 9:39 am #297751Several candidates for MOTM which indicates a decent team performance overall and nobody had a bad game IMO. Thought Rowley was a decent shout to get it, reckon it was his best game for us yet certainly at home.
January 22, 2025 at 9:46 am #297753Guess Monday’s training session wasn’t so blue.

January 22, 2025 at 4:07 pm #297802Didn’t notice myself but someone i saw today said Roberts made a point of going to all 3 stands and applauding they questioned whether that was his last game for us.
Do hope not he was class yesterday.1 user thanked author for this post.
January 22, 2025 at 5:32 pm #297812Yep I remarked the same to my mate it was quite noticeable, hope it wasn’t his last game but if it is we just crack on, as with any other good player leaving.

January 23, 2025 at 3:49 am #297824Just managed to catch the extended highlights and it looked a decent game especially second half.

March 2, 2025 at 5:24 pm #299585I think Brackley has an easier run in to the end of the season and with improving form they’re probably favourites to be league champions. Hope I’m wrong.
March 2, 2025 at 6:07 pm #299586We’re the current bookies favourites, closely followed by Chester and Brackley.
March 2, 2025 at 6:14 pm #299587The target for us is 11 games left and 11 wins. Do that and we are champions and promoted.
And that has to be it.
March 2, 2025 at 7:25 pm #299588As long as Brackley doesn’t win their last 11 Sanfran

Been fretting about this supposed better run in. Just checked – I don’t think it’s that much better or easier than ours tbh, and we know any team in this league can throw up a surprise. I’d say Chester’s run in looks more difficult, on paper.
March 8, 2025 at 11:12 am #299718Just noticed their stats: 21 wins, 10 defeats but only 4 draws.
If they finish above us then it’s pretty obvious what the difference is. We seem to have settled for too many draws. If there was ever a case for “going for it” Brackley look to be proving it.
