The week that will define our destiny.

Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday home games worth a massive 9 points v Brackley, South Shields and Market Needham all winnable.

When you have aspirations of promotion and lose to teams in the bottom four after being ahead, you need to pick up a result v Chorley to make amends.

Then win those three home games no ifs no buts, that will be pay back for the disastrous November/December with three 0-0 draws, defeat v Buxton and Warrington Rylands.

Tend to agree that it’s the pivotal week in the season.

It might well be a pivotal time but, rest assured, we won’t come out of that period smelling of roses!!

There’s around 100 supporters who are hunched over their keyboards ready to copy and paste their ‘Butler Out’ tirades should it not be a complete and unequivocal success. Just my opinion but an undisputed fact ;)

He needs a win against Chorley for starters, If we’re to drop any points then let it be to Needham market. Twill still keep us in the hunt.

That’s pretty fair though Deerey on the Butler out isn’t it if we’re to make automatic promotion.

I’m not sure why you continue to defend his continued gross incompetence ?

A largely similar team has grown far worse under his stewardship, he communicates like a spoiled child, signs flops, and refers to the fans as outside noise. A limited future in management awaits.

Because he is still a young manager, learning. And I believe the club need to get out of this hiring and firing cycle. What good has it done? Can you demonstrate on field progress through the endless appointments we have had? I don’t think sacking him, particularly at this stage of the season will result in promotion. Sticking with him might. Though to read certain things you’d think it was a fait accompli that we won’t. But it’s not. That said, my previous post was more sarcasm regarding hysteria on digital platforms than anything else. I recognise his apparent failings but he’s not going anywhere till at least the end of the season anyway is he? So I think we’re better served getting behind him. I’m probably also tainted by the abuse and ridicule hurled at him as I think it’s unfair, unjustified and reminds me of the vitriol being lobbed about during the Hilton era.

I see little evidence that the Iron can be champions. There are far too many negatives.
Frankly, 2nd and 3rd both look highly improbable.
The best I can see is us scraping into the really tough part of the playoffs with those welcoming away fixtures.
Wanna be wrong but no indicators that we can achieve promotion this year.
Much has to change before we can embrace concepts such as optimism.

All fair comments, but my concern is with the manager and assistant clearly struggling at this level, what would happen should we gain promotion.

Though I am not optimistic given the inability to produce consistently good performances and results.

That’s why these nine points are critical!

    Can’t see 9 points myself. 5 perhaps?

    Brackley – away win
    South Shields – home win
    Needham – draw

    4 points.

We’ve drawn half of our games at home. Joint most home games drawn along with Spennymoor.

    Brackley are v good away.
    South Shields tend to lose.
Needham are a bit hit, miss or maybe and we could win, lose or draw.

Thought the club would have put an offer for the 3 home games.

    Buy 2 get 1 free,

A lot to ask of fans in space of one week, especially those who couldn’t afford to buy a season ticket with that big upfront cost.
