Who’d not thought that might happen?
August 5, 2023 at 4:25 pm #268440Only bother I’m hearing about is that we’re still playing like we have for the past 5 seasons.
August 5, 2023 at 4:27 pm #268441August 5, 2023 at 4:33 pm #268442Hopefully the police clamp down and the lot of them get Football banning orders.
Give them a few hundred hours community service to be carried out every time Scunthorpe play.2 users thanked author for this post.
August 5, 2023 at 4:39 pm #268443Club fines on the way.
Scunthorpe “fans” pitch invasion and smoke flares thrown.

August 5, 2023 at 4:50 pm #268444Facebook crew getting their banning orders back and not their corner
August 5, 2023 at 8:33 pm #268469And there was me thinking you used to go in one of the hooligan vans SNOT. Sure they’ll get their banning orders though.
August 5, 2023 at 8:44 pm #268472No way they can’t have segregation in force at our matches.
August 6, 2023 at 12:20 am #268539Having attended a fair few non league grounds a tier or two below NLN, I think that’s a tall order for other clubs. The cost of extra security staff and temporary fencing would be a big financial hit for them.

August 6, 2023 at 12:30 am #268541I remember Rochdale fans invading GP not that long ago after scoring a goal and I can’t remember if their club got fined, I just hope we can keep our noses clean with the authorities this season because it’s been a very tough time for our club, particularly in recent months
August 6, 2023 at 3:42 am #268544Following this story on SM it appears no arrests and it was just verbals between rival fans as Scunny supporters walked from train station .. some local business owners fearing the worst pulled the shutters down but sounds like it was blown up for the wow factor.
Tamworth do have a small firm and recently serious trouble at home with Nuneaton and put the shits up visiting Ilkeston fans by all accounts bricking their bus after the game.
Most reports seem like good atmos in the pubs etc .
August 6, 2023 at 9:04 am #268558August 6, 2023 at 9:28 am #268560The post about their wetherspoons utter shite we were in in there from 11am and no shite in or outside the place, police rocked up in numbers at the ground when we parked up, they new well over a hundred were on the train and were going to meet them god knows why they didn’t put them all in the whethers the nearest pub to the ground with only a lidl to pass on the way to the ground no houses no nothing just a pleasant walk shame it was drizzling but I guess they know best.
August 6, 2023 at 9:37 am #268561Ps, Hilton came for a drink in whethers but he left around 1 o’clock so I don’t think he was involved.
August 6, 2023 at 9:41 am #268563So it was Hilton that started all the bother scaring the shop owners and elderly ladies of Tamworth ..
might ov known !!

August 6, 2023 at 9:59 am #268567Club Chaplin posted his disappointment on the Facebook group. One reply:
‘Baffles me how supposed “grown men” behave at football and use it as an excuse to act like an idiot and full of bravado.
Will end up spoiling it for the majority, we will soon get reduced allocation pubs won’t allow away fans in, the away end will stop serving beer whenever we go away!’
Who are these ‘grown men’? Not youths by the sound of it.
August 6, 2023 at 10:29 am #268569Only seemed to be a dozen or so Tamworth fans out to create a name for themselves, we were in a couple of pubs down the road packed full of Scunny fans and there was no bother. I’m sure the pubs appreciated the custom.
August 6, 2023 at 10:31 am #268570Seems to be a number of conflicting accounts.
August 6, 2023 at 10:33 am #268572There was one fan on the pitch and was a young lad who threw the smoke bomb hardly an excuse for stopping selling beer in the ground, a number of the grown blokes were in there wethers before half nine they got the 8 o’clock train, probably a hundred or more before any of their other pubs open who’s going to turn that trade down. What each individual gets out of their day is up to them if they act against the law then they will sometimes pay the price they go and watch Scunthorpe united and have done throughout the years, perhaps the chaplain and a few others should steward them. Just a thought!
August 6, 2023 at 11:05 am #268576I like an edge to the atmosphere but We need to be careful with behaviour inside the ground, going on the pitch is a big no no and teams/authorities will soon start putting restrictions on us. I saw someone throw a beer in the direction of our own GK which was stupidity and he was rightly pissed off.
August 6, 2023 at 11:40 am #268582A former ref in that division told me personally to avoid going because there was an especially foul and significant element amongst the home fans.
Said that they were the worst he’d encountered in the whole NLN.
None of this excuses poor behaviour from Iron fans, of course.August 6, 2023 at 11:42 am #268583I’d be surprised if they found enough police to arrest 20 n a short space of time for such a fixture
August 6, 2023 at 12:02 pm #268588just msg my cousin whose a copper in Donny .. he made a call to his fellow PO mate in Staffs n was told 2 arrests yesterday both public order offenses…
Apparently Tamworth FC do have a group of less than welcoming fans was offered as other info , as most all football clubs do i suppose.

August 6, 2023 at 12:19 pm #268591Growm adults shouldn’t need stewarding.
August 6, 2023 at 1:49 pm #268605Agree Deerey they shouldn’t, but when some of them have had circa 8+ cans on the train before hitting the pubs they often need a little coaching, 3 of the Mullet wearer’s all had case fulls with them, most get embarrassing rather than causing trouble.
August 6, 2023 at 2:01 pm #268610My mate’s just messaged me from Newcastle city centre saying the Mags faithful are embarrassing themselves by getting well tanked up before the Villareal game at 4pm!
Comes with the territory I guess.
August 7, 2023 at 8:58 am #268647@tamworthfc @SUFCOfficial really horrible scenes in Tamworth Market Square today. It’s a family town & this happened. Please undertake an urgent investigation into supporters behaviour @RadioHumberside @bbcwm @ITVCentral @bbcmtd @BBCSport @BBCMOTD @birmingham_live @tamworthherald pic.twitter.com/hTr5soveoG

August 7, 2023 at 11:39 am #268655Pretty sure there would have been a pitch invasion on Saturday if it wasn’t for the 6ft drop onto it.
August 7, 2023 at 1:36 pm #268665There was little sign of any trouble in the Kettlebrook WMC. Nice pint of mild too. UTWI
August 7, 2023 at 2:03 pm #268667You can’t beat a good pint of mild. Difficult to find these days!!
