Understandably a lot of anger on here tonight and as a result probably a lot of comments are not as objective as they should be, that’s fair enough, anger can do that to a lot of opinion straight after an event that causes such passion and feeling. I would say it was a collective failing of the whole team and management over the season that led to today’s display on the field, we were simply not good enough when it came to the big occasion games or consistent enough to achieve the results this group of players should have been capable of getting. A disappointing end to a disjointed season but there was success and big success at that, our football club was saved and we still have a football club to watch because of that. Go away, lick your wounds and come back next season knowing you can watch a team from this town, win, lose or whatever but we still all have a football club. Thank you Michelle and the board for that.

April 27, 2024 at 9:10 pm #284620Great post Iron-awe
I am gutted at us not showing up let alone going up evident after 15 minutes that we needed more mobility up front but we said that all season.waited to long to get subs on. Good luck to Jimmy in his next position hope to Christ it’s not as our manager next season bothers me that I keep hearing part-time next season but it is what it is
Thanks to Michelle the board the sponsors and us the supporters we have a club I hope for promotion next season UTIApril 27, 2024 at 9:23 pm #284622Good summary IA. Fact is, we’re still not good enough, and had we gone up, we’d have struggled, especially as the budget is said to be a lot smaller next season. The positives are that the club is still there, and despite all the challenges of the toughest season in the Iron’s history, we nearly got promoted.

April 27, 2024 at 11:54 pm #284631Listened on Radio Lincs, they were ecstatic as you’d understand. Boston are a good model of a club who have come back from the brink, they have a shiny new stadium, a good manager and a growing fan base.
Everything we don’t.

I wouldn’t question our fan base, but we fall way short of the other two things you listed.

April 28, 2024 at 4:24 am #284648Boston were the better side on the day… more chances and were always gonna win if went to pens .. Scunny just didnt turn up on the big occasion AGAIN

April 28, 2024 at 5:52 am #284649So they’ve won the quarters and semi’s without needing to score a goal. Do you think they will win the final the same way ?
Probably.
Does the final now take place at their ground?April 28, 2024 at 7:40 am #284651No the final will be at Brackley or Chorley. Both finished higher in the league than Boston.
Neither will be as soft a touch as we were.

Nowt ner truer than that MK .. a low level performance in many ways from the team sheet coming out to the last pen .. so sad on such a big occasion.
April 28, 2024 at 8:30 am #284656We looked a poor team yesterday.
Seemed to be only Clunan in midfield.
Left side was totally non existent.
Beestin completely wasted on the left.
Bench was truly awful compared to there’s.Best team won.

The idiots who bring smoke bombs, flares and throw pints around yes.
Hopefully they won’t be back.

April 30, 2024 at 9:19 am #284914Failed to win 25 of their 46 games.
Lost 13 games
Only took 12 points from the possible 75 points in the games that they didn’t win.
Hardly deserve promotion.
I’m not a fan of play offs.Last years play off winners Chester only lost 6 games last season.
April 30, 2024 at 10:41 am #284918Last years playoff winners where Kidderminster and they lost 15 games in the regular season.

Silly sod Rene… of course they were – and they’ll be rejoining us next season.
I was on a Chester site and they were highlighted and I mistakenly quoted them.
Apologies – I wasn’t trying to mislead / misinform.

May 4, 2024 at 5:37 pm #285374Well done Boston on your promotion, did it the hard way 5 away wins on the trot, not even in a playoff spot with 40 mins left of the regular season well done indeed.

May 4, 2024 at 5:45 pm #285376Carbon copy of Kidderminster last year.
Securing second and sitting back waiting doesn’t seem to work.

May 4, 2024 at 7:15 pm #285382Congratulations to Boston I’m glad they got promoted and I hope they can hold there own in the National League next season and stay up. Wonder if JD will ever admit to himself or even reflect on the mistakes he made as our manager last season or will the old professional pride ” I’m not wrong ” attitude still prevail as it seems too amongst a lot of these people?
May 4, 2024 at 7:37 pm #285383Well done Boston. Strange team – only bother to score if they absolutely have to.
Won’t miss their away end though. Worst of the season with too many people in too small a space.

May 4, 2024 at 7:40 pm #285384Felt Boston were one of the best footballing sides to visit the Attis this season, from what I saw. Well done to them.
Their match v Dag & Red should prove interesting next season. Daggers fans are not keen on Boston after Steve Evans led Boston to the Conference title in 2002, with Dag & Red 2nd, only for Boston to have found to have broken the rules. They saw it as cheating and do not like Boston Utd at all as a result. They haven’t played each other since, until next season.
May 4, 2024 at 7:56 pm #285386Well happy with Boston going up MK, saves me the hassle of the grandkids demanding we go, shit place to get to .2hrs to get 70 miles, joke of an away stand 3/4 steps wide couldn’t even see all of the pitch.
May 4, 2024 at 8:10 pm #285387Absolutely right Awaywego. Twice as far to Brackley but takes about 20 minutes more.
And you can see the whole game when you get there.
