December 19, 2020 at 5:06 pm #199321Wrong thread there Ferrite
December 19, 2020 at 5:19 pm #199330Losing to the cod heads is totally unacceptable, and to do it without even getting into the game is worse.
The future is looking bleak for The Iron. Cox will almost certainly be sacked before finishing the season, and Swanny will find another mug to manage our slide into non league football.
December 19, 2020 at 5:41 pm #199337A proper advert for league 2 football that was.
Hoofed from one end to the other.
December 19, 2020 at 5:46 pm #199338Worst game of football I have ever seen!!!!!
December 19, 2020 at 6:12 pm #199342Never seen such dross ever as that, bloody clueless from top to bottom. Cant see me ever attending Glanford Park again in the future.
December 19, 2020 at 6:20 pm #199344First derby game I have not attended for 40+ years and boy am I glad. No passion clueless all of them it was a local derby against our main rivals and not one player stood up to it. And that includes most of the opposition as well. Macatee Eisa Gillhead Loft and Jarvis were hopeless today. I hope Cox lays into them after that shambolic performance.
December 19, 2020 at 7:09 pm #199351Will it make any difference?
His half time talks seem to have had the reverse effect recently.
Lost the dressing room already?Mind, with modern Snowflake entitled players, are we surprised?
December 19, 2020 at 7:09 pm #199352I didn’t watch it, I knew what to expect with our record of not turning up in local derbies, when McGahey and Van Veen are out we are leaderless and we are clueless, we got out of jail on Tuesday, when those two are playing it rubs off on the other players, going to be a long season.
December 19, 2020 at 7:10 pm #199353it was a local derby against our main rivals and not one player stood up to it.
This^^^^^
Can you imagine this happening in A Newcastle v Sunderland game? Or Spurs v Arsenal, Norwich v Ipswich?
If players aren’t up for this and a Scunthorpe born & bred manager can’t inspire them them then it’s all very depressing.
Boooooooooooo! Indeed.
December 19, 2020 at 7:52 pm #199357Does Cox inspire anybody!
Hes boring and depressing no wonder they won’t play for him.
As suggested earlier it seems he has lost the dressing room, that’s if he ever had it.
December 19, 2020 at 8:22 pm #199362Tactically he’s dire and makes countless strange decisions.
Loft couldn’t hold it up, why didn’t he go 4/3/3 and try and get it down the sides of Grimsby ?. Cox could have gone 4/3/3 and brought Green on for Gillead and could have brought O’Malley on to play LW.
What did he do ?. Took McAtee off and stuck Jarvis on who we all know couldn’t even finish his dinner.
I don’t get him at times.
December 19, 2020 at 8:32 pm #199363All this Cox not inspiring/motivating is total bollocks.
He’s Scunthorpe born And bred and there would have been fewer able to convey to that group of players what it means to fans.
If as a sportsman you can’t get motivated to do your job, especially in a local derby then you’re not up to the task regardless who’s in the dressing room.
Players should be ashamed of themselves tonight.
December 19, 2020 at 8:32 pm #199364Complete and utter load of S H 1 T E.
Fast free flowing attacking football to make the town proud of,what a joke.December 19, 2020 at 8:32 pm #199365That doesn’t exempt him from criticism either; things need improve.
December 19, 2020 at 9:19 pm #199368Whow very depressing there, little bit ott though from some,it’s us fans that are up for it, and we haven’t even cheered on half the team yet, other than telling the players it’s a local derby it would just seem like a normal game to them, we are playing in abnormal times and contrary to what NI says about other derbys this year the passion is just not there in them, just think if we had won the last 2 games against the worst 2 teams in the league ( and it wasn’t me who said they were)not let a last minute goal against Morecambe, put a proper formation out against Bolton we”d be in or very near the playoffs, everyone would agree that wouldn’t be right, but what we are is an inconsistent team some games good, some showing promise and some bloody awful dross, I’ve wrote this season off back in September and other than the buzz pre game today until I get back to watching next season I don’t really give a toss.
December 20, 2020 at 12:31 am #199372other than telling the players it’s a local derby it would just seem like a normal game to them
If they had any ounce of pride and battling qualities about them, telling them should be enough. They didn’t really appear to give a crap…worst performance in some time.
Shocking against a crap Grimsby side.
December 20, 2020 at 2:45 pm #199421I hope Cox lays into them after that shambolic performance.
I don’t, I hope he thinks rationally & clearly about what needs improving, I hope he looks at his own mistakes, I hope he reconsiders some of the players who haven’t featured for a while, I hope he looks at how to improve the players he needs to rely on.
I’ve never understood why people expect managers just to shout at players. If I were a footballer, it would never have a positive effect. I’ve heard plenty of ex-players say that it never works either, they just switch off.
December 20, 2020 at 2:56 pm #199423Maybe he should be like another Neil….
(Adults only btw)
December 20, 2020 at 5:36 pm #199425‘Mind, with modern Snowflake entitled players, are we surprised?’
Yeah, bloody lefty liberal footballers today Alcy! If only they were good ole racists and bigots. That would make all the difference.
December 20, 2020 at 6:04 pm #199426Or this NI?
