    Indeed Rene.
IMO anything other than an away win at BS on Saturday and JD could be toast.. im predicting a 1-1 draw just to add doubt into the B ov D decision.

For the record n purely hypothetical …

    Ogle
    Kouogun
    Barrows
    Kelly

    Butterfield
    Pugh

Harsh on Fitzsimons, Ogle, Kouogun, Butterfield; McAlinden and generous to Beestin IMO.

The regular starters need a wake up call and showing that they ain’t indispensable.
There are thousands of young lads who will play for much less than the reputed salaries of our ‘Primadonnas’

I think the big name Hilton fantasy signings have already mentally left. They’re going to be in the last 3 months of their contracts and trying not to get injured before they find new clubs, or already know they have offers elsewhere. We’ve all seen what they can do and they ain’t doing it anymore.

TJO could well be right which once again confirms it’s all about the money, nothing else matters, another sad reflection of today’s society. Professional pride? ,forget it, gimme gimme gimme, yes please.

Dean will probably play the same formation, with a change up of players.

    Fitzsimons

    Ogle
    Kougun
    Evans
    Kelly

    Clunan
    Beestin
    Pugh

    Ferris
    Wilson
    Elliot

I’d go 4/4/2, but I don’t think Dean has got it in him to start with it.

If Jimbob’s still at the helm of HMS Ranaground then Saturday’s game at Doldrum Park is going to be an embarrassment.

Bringing them in on their day off will backfire.
Old school type autocratic ‘management’ from a bygone era.

We will see how well it goes on Saturday.

    Revised prediction:
    Bishop’s Stortford 1-0 Iron

    1-0… 20/1
    2-0… 45/1
    2-1… 25/1

Why pick a score Rene if you can get 13/2 for any Bish win.

In two of their last three games, Bishop’s Stortford actually took the lead.
Also in two of those games they went in at half time without having conceded.
Spennymoor nicked the win there in the 90 +4 minute.
As we all know, we don’t score in the first half.
It could be a long afternoon!
Spennymoor manager didn’t think much of the pitch:

Stortford were promoted as Champions of the Isthmian League Premier last season.
Geographically they should be playing in the NLS – however the great North / South divide exists even in football.
They were placed in NLN due to a dearth of Northern teams.
Chairman, 70% Owner and Manager, Steve Smith obviously decided he wants them playing in a more local southern league next season.
I watched a full BS game early in the season and to be fair they weren’t bad.
It’ll be a big day for them tomorrow, a free hit, a chance to be able to get one over the big boys.

Players were abused by clubs pre-Bosman. The situation was reversed post Bosman.
Trouble was – it made football more expensive for fans

    Good point.
Rene wanders off scratching his head.

More, smaller waged but bigger odds bets for same or less outlay.

BS have drifted to 17/2 now.
    Darlo are in to 12/5.

    A 28/1 double.

I’ve listened to Dean’s interviews on Humberside and the club site.
Says a lot but says nothing.
Anything less than a convincing three points for us tomorrow and he’s gone, he knows that, the players know that, let’s see how much they want to play for him.

The match tomorrow shouldn’t be used as a measuring stick as they’re are absolutely terrible. We should be beating them convincingly anyway, even in bad form.

All a win tomorrow will do is just prolong the whole thing. Dean should already be gone !

It’s been prolonged since he arrived IMO. Still, you never know. Maybe he and the players will miraculously turn it on.

Yes, no doubt we will against them as they’re that bad. Normal service will resume vs Spenymoor.

    Saturday 9th March 2024
    National League North
    Bishop’s Stortford v Scunthorpe United

    Bishop’s Stortford’s average home attendance = 557

Their last three home fixtures have seen gates of 246, 235 and 203 supporters.

The current incumbent of the First Team Manager title is James (Jimbob) Dean.

Yesterday, in his pre-game interview, he says of the game:

    “Massive; massive… must win!”

NLN, Bishop Stortford away – if you’d told someone that 15 years ago they’d have had you placed in restraints and whisked you off to the funny farm!

Bishop’s f……g massive Stortford my arse!

Today we’ll find out if the players second attempt of “throw the gaffer under the bus” works.
There can’t be any other explanation for Tuesdays performance.

Ten home League defeats on the bounce.

The last time they won at home was 4th November 2023.
    Bishop’s Stortford 3-1 Buxton

Absolutely but no different to the majority of football manager interviews we see week in and out on the TV. You can only regurgitate the same old drivel for so long before it becomes irrelevant. Exhibit A, our old buddy Xxx.

    Saturday 28th October 2023

    Iron 6-1 Blue Brazils

I actually correctly predicted that amazing score line!

A mere 19 weeks later, people are hoping, no praying that the worst doesn’t happen.

It seems that most people whom have expressed, see the game as a 1-1 draw.

    WTF!

    A 6-1 drubbing to hoping for a 1-1 draw.

Yet, going in to the game – we are still in second place.

It just goes to show how poor this league is!

I think that a 1-1 draw is about right fof today, but after saying that, who is going to be on target to score that goal?????.
I wonder if Dean dare risk playing an attacking line up with us playing such a poor team, or is thatt a wish too much!!!!!!

    SO PREDICTION OF 1 – 1
    AND 3 YELLOWS + A RED.
