Had a glance at there site – unlucky not to come away with a point at Kings Lynn – lost to a 95 minute goal!
They also released 4 players today – so maybe new players on the way for this Saturdays game?
Would like to think we can follow up Tuesdays result with another 3 points :)

    Banana skin my eye !

Players back now with more to come back so we’ll be stronger not weaker. I think we’ll carry the confidence on from Spennymoor game so I’ll be expecting a 2 or 3-0 win.

Elliot and Kouogun are back for next match. Law has had minutes as has Clunan so they’ll be better.

Yes, think we’ll win pretty handily.

The players should be licking their lips about Saturday, last night they looked full of energy with plenty of quick paced intelligent passing, anything close to that performance should see off most teams in this division. 4-0 to the Iron.

Be interesting this one as for whatever reason in the past Scunny have more than often slipped up against sides at the bottom and seemingly struggling…

i think this will be tighter closer game than most expect even after the Spennymoor goal fest ..

    3-2 Scunny

Is there a case to be made from Tuesday night that we looked better without Elliot in the starting XI?

Yes, but only because he’s not being used correctly. He’s neither a wide player nor a lone striker.

He has not exactly shone for a 30 goal a season striker.

With the quality of the players coming back into the squad it is difficult to imagine any thing other than another win and strong performance for the Iron. My head says a comfortable 3 – 0 win, with a smidge over 4,000 roaring them onto success.

Elliott’s best showing for me was the last 15 minute cameo when brought on as sub against a tiring Darlington, they couldn’t live with his pace and link up play with Sembi-Ferris, he should be more than that though in the right formation.

Agree Cass but with Jimmy claiming he will never play old fashioned 4-4-2 and the team demonstrating at Chester they can’t play 5-3-2 there is little prospect him being used as one of a pair of strikers.

As central striker of a front 3 he is probably behind Whitehall and Bennett in the queue.

For the very reasons I mentioned. Can’t see Bayern giving Harry Kane a run out wide any time soon. We’ve been crying out for a 20 goal a season striker for several seasons, we’ve got one and don’t use him – bizarre!!

He’s played alongside a big man in the couple of games I’ve seen this season and didn’t really shine in either. His finishing is clearly pretty handy for this level given his goal record but I wonder whether the team as a whole looks better balanced without him. Not really his fault, sometimes players just don’t quite fit into systems.

Stortford fan here – I come in peace.

You should beat us fairly comfortably as our management team appear to be favouring the approach of reconstructing our back line every game. Our best bet is that your players think we’re worse than we are so don’t bother showing up.

Out of curiosity – any good pub recommendations that are close to station/ground?

Honest lawyer just round the corner from the station 250 yds Blue bell wethers 300 yds further along, recommend a taxi to the ground from there, Iron bar at the ground but that will be rammed on Saturday, the lawyer is a football pub and is good for home and away fans,

I am now a lot more comfortable with things now that we have got back some of the better players from injury, and a change in results for the better is expected by me.

    I am also going for a 4 – 0 win.
And a good crowd of 4,229 should be at the game.

We need a few wins on the trot to catch up and put a bit of pressire on Tamworth, who are now five points above us, we need to get out of this leauge this season.

One thread is about offloading players – this one about adding to an already overloaded squad.

One thing that put me off going in Lawyer was that the London lot drank in there, good pub though. Blue bell is bigger though and caters for us Real Ale Farts as well.

    Berkeley reopening soon too?

What ‘London Lot’ CMC? SULSESC? Each to their own but never deterred me. Berkeley opening soon maybe? Now you’re talking. Stortford fan – re Awaywego’s taxi recommendation – if you have time and up for a nice 40min walk down Donny Rd, do that, and save your taxi fare for the serious uphill task after the match mate. You don’t want to be walking up that escarpment after your team have been mullered.

That’s if you can get a taxi Deerey normally at away games taxis won’t go anywhere near the football ground due to amount of traffic.

So does the Lawyer with the added benefit their beer isn’t bin-end stuff like at Wetherspoons.

Urban myth there ferrite, with 972 pubs and the trade they do they would struggle to find bin end beer to keep them going, don’t doubt they get better prices than anyone else just on the volume they get through.

Got to agree with Ferrite on this one.

Don’t know about the Blue Bell but in my experience it’s a lottery as to whether(spoons) you get a drinkable pint or a glass of flat vinegar!

Probably grab a swift one in the Spartans clubhouse. Will be on a quick turnaround as my son is in work that night and have get back for the Fireworks at 7pm!

We’ll be shoehorned in behind the goal at the end opposite the clubhouse. It could be quite snug!

Good fish & chips down near the harbour if you’re making a day of it.
