I would have started the game with Carlton and Beck up top as strikers. Danny Whitehall will definitely not be match fit and not what we needed in a must win match today. Don’t think Butler has it in him though to go all out attack so play-offs do not look a good option, particularly if we have to play away. Unless Beck is injured think that decision to drop him from the squad has cost us as no-one up top to hold the ball up.
April 18, 2025 at 11:53 pm #302621On that performance, we don’t have a single player.
Step 8 NPL Div One (East) standard today. Some were that bad that you wouldn’t want them in your team at Step 9 NCEL Prem.
Mo, has to go!
Give him his bus fare and a thank you.Abysmal!
April 18, 2025 at 11:54 pm #302622Next year? Beck… oh heck!
April 19, 2025 at 2:30 am #302627I read on twitter, now X, is that he’s out for the rest of the season.
April 19, 2025 at 8:50 am #302638Personally I’ve seen enough to know neither Beck or Carlton are the answer.

April 19, 2025 at 9:01 am #302639Neither are good enough. Both AB’s choice.
Not that last seasons lot are worthy either.
Would we trust AB for another season if the above two are his type of signings?
For me we’d be harping on the same next season after losing out to Macclesfield as they storm the league.

At least Beck got to score at Wembley in last years Trophy final, he’ll always have that Rene.

April 19, 2025 at 9:22 am #302643will be interesting who is in NLN with us next year – only 1 northern team coming down. Maccs could be the big club rather than us
April 19, 2025 at 9:30 am #302644Can’t see anybody but Macc storming the NLN title next season. They could probably won it this season with a few additions.

IMO NLN will be a whole lot harder next season as more teams go full time and the notables coming in especially as mentioned Macc T .. also quite possibly with Scunny having a different looking BovD and weaker squad as a few of the current lot will be leaving.
This was the year to get out and still in with a shout but not on yesterdays performance.

April 19, 2025 at 10:03 am #302648Yesterday’s game was made for Beck, shame he’s injured.
Just watched the KLT highlights on their channel, what an incredible block by Carlton from Fadera’s shot. From where I was stood I thought he’d just missed but no Carlton stuck a leg out1 user thanked author for this post.

I think last year was really the year to get out. We’d have been better placed to compete in the NL after promotion last season than we’d be this time.
April 19, 2025 at 11:57 am #302673Fylde in NLN next season.
April 19, 2025 at 12:05 pm #302676Fylde in NLN next season.
Fylde no threat, just down the road from me. Terrible mismanagement and super skint.

Agreed. Just posted something similar on another thread. Was thinking it during the game.

Agreed. They have some serious shit to deal with
April 19, 2025 at 1:13 pm #302691Merthyr Town away will be an interesting fixture as they’ll probably be in the northern half!
April 19, 2025 at 2:42 pm #302703That’s ridiculous if it happens
April 19, 2025 at 3:30 pm #302724Very likely to given that Hereford, Oxford City and Gloucester (last season) were all in the northern half.
April 19, 2025 at 4:29 pm #302725NLN normally get 2 teams from the southern central premier division, Needham and Leamington last season.
