Good to see the Beeb are finally addressing how they’ve reported economics badly, comparing government debt to household economics. It’s way over due that they stop feeding the public with this simplistic version of economics and made people aware that austerity isn’t necessary at all. If they want to be impartial and stop parroting the government’s way as the only way, they need to get a grip, and present the fuller picture and economic alternatives. I’m sure the Tory propaganda machine will be gearing up to stop the truth being reported, happy to blind side the public with talk of ‘the country’s credit card is maxed out’ nonsense.

“There’s no money left”, “There’s no magic money tree”, “Mrs Thatcher’s shopping bag”, “our grandkids will have to pay for this”, “it’s basic economics”, “robbing Peter to pay Paul”, “we can’t afford it because we have to get inflation down”.

All scare stories from the Tories all promoted without sufficient challenge by the BBC. And the Tories have the cheek to criticise the BBC for left wing bias.

Hopefully the Tories aim to control all of our media is failing.

The one bit of the recent Bucks rant against the BBC I do agree with is the style and standard of reporting and the daily opinions of “our chief correspondent”. The worst of them all being the odious tittle tattle from the royal correspondent Witchell.

I’m not a royalist but this tickled me about that little ferret.
