F*ck me lads. Wasn’t expecting you to be that poor. Confidence looks extremely fragile in your camp.
Good luck anyway, it’s a long road back. Shields is a quality player and will work wonders down the wing for you. He’s got a brilliant attitude too. Treat him well.
Cheers for the 3 points. Probably see you again next season.

Yup, we are shambolic.
We are NLN next season.
It could be a good while before we host you again.
😟💥😟February 3, 2023 at 10:49 pm #255030Poor tonight; typical with a big crowd in.
Barnet to their credit looked a well oiled outfit, similar to Woking. We look miles behind them.
New keeper and centre back is a must. Owens’s going to be a good keeper but he’s just too young to be playing first team football, the centre backs are just not good enough full stop.
Gerry looked a handful and took his goal well, just a shame we couldn’t create more as hoofball was the order of the day.
On the positive, the new players that came on all enhanced the side. Ferris will be a success here- a proper winger. Ogle continues to impress also.
From where we were a few weeks ago, tonight was fantastic. 5,000 home fans whilst 23rd in the national league; great stuff.

February 3, 2023 at 10:56 pm #255031New scoreboard looks mint. Thanks Roj. Better scorelines in the future mate
February 3, 2023 at 11:01 pm #255032The way we set up tonight was as if the management didn’t think we could win playing the passing the ball game, and told the team to play hoofball instead.
I’d have rather have seen the type of football we played in our last couple of matches. Then we would have seen our best player (Butterfield) running Barnet ragged.

February 3, 2023 at 11:16 pm #255036Or the new management disregarded what’s gone before, lock stock and barrel. And it backfired.

February 3, 2023 at 11:16 pm #255037Poor play, and all goals gifted to Barnet.
Need at least one decent centre back,
Boyce the better of two very poor defenders.
Maybe a blessing having no game a week Saturday.1 user thanked author for this post.
February 3, 2023 at 11:36 pm #255046Lost to a good side but the game plan was wrong, good post from Cliff BRP think you nailed it Cliff, nice one.

February 3, 2023 at 11:40 pm #255047Great performance from the singing contingent tonight too 👏

February 3, 2023 at 11:50 pm #255051Great buzz in the crowd tonight, strangely I thought the singing in the last game was better and more sustained, maybe I’m getting blase about these big crowds.

February 3, 2023 at 11:52 pm #255052Compared with other losses this season, Barnet did not run rings around us, they were resilient and took their chances. In a negative, we gave them those chances.
It’s the defence.2 users thanked author for this post.
February 3, 2023 at 11:53 pm #255053And the goalie!
February 3, 2023 at 11:53 pm #255055The two goals deflated em. Fair enough. Remember that feeling all too well at their age back of the OSG Donny Rd

February 4, 2023 at 9:53 am #255093Don’t get me wrong I know the performance was not as good tonight but Barnet did a job on us. They where very clever at stopping the game and getting in the refs face after each and every foul challenge. I personally thought they where one of the best teams to visit GP this season. Looking back it was still fine margins between getting something and nothing out of the game.
1 their first goal verses Feeney’s chance.
2 deflected 2nd goal verses Whitehouse header at the end of the first half.
3 their third goal Fozzy should save verse the save from Dion’s header
Having said all that Barnet did deserve to win.

February 4, 2023 at 10:24 am #255094Looked like there wasn’t enough time to prepare. Players didn’t seem to know what to do apart from release it forward ASAP. Not enough time and composure on the ball. Reminded me of England v Iceland.

February 4, 2023 at 11:05 am #255102Their keeper saved things, ours didn’t.
Stupid, unnecessary foul for first goal.
3 headers, 1 saved 2 missed, could have got us an undeserved 3 pointsFebruary 4, 2023 at 11:42 am #255106AnonymousInactiveOffline

February 4, 2023 at 2:20 pm #255127This was never the game to hit the ground running.
We know how strong the NL is, perhaps JD doesn’t. Hope the hype around his four promotions in seven years or whatever it was hasn’t gone to his head.

February 4, 2023 at 2:32 pm #255128What we don’t want, seriously, is a bad atmosphere in the stands and the Donny Road End spilling onto the pitch and affecting the players. Give them some love geeze, let them at least start the games with smiles on their faces. Because all these downers pouring scorn, even if it isn’t directed at the players, it will make things worse. We are shot of that shithead now. Get behind the boys!!

February 4, 2023 at 3:34 pm #255131Gk was unbelievably shaky.
Big striker played well, so did Leake.
Bunker was a deer in the headlights.
Tactical familiarity issues and poor gk’ing were the difference makers.February 4, 2023 at 3:58 pm #255133Only noticed Leake taking throws and getting booked. Nothing much going forward but he was playing against a right handful.
Agree about big Gerry but I thought Bunker looked like he had a good range of passing and possibly the most promising of the subs. Plenty of disappointing performances overall, wish we had a few more Ogles.2 users thanked author for this post.
February 4, 2023 at 6:07 pm #255137Unbelievable
February 5, 2023 at 10:45 am #255153It’s my opinion based on what I saw. You don’t have to believe it but it’s real.
February 5, 2023 at 3:29 pm #255170Nelson must be gutted about this regression. Game over
