If and when we play 2 wingers and give him a chance would be my guess.

Scored in his last game, came on as sub yesterday and did a good job for the team, he’s getting there and I hope the fans continue to recognise that and support him, they did yesterday. Carlton still hasn’t scored but I hope he starts soon because there is a good player in there who is overdue a goal.

Best game for us yet today, header down to send Beestin through in first minute who promptly made a mess of a very good chance. Sent Roberts through in first half who tried to get a shot on target when a pass across the box would have been better and knocked some useful balls into players plus some of his control on the floor was pretty good for a big guy. Don’t have a problem with Beck, we played a lot more to his strengths today and he had a decent game IMO.

It was his best game, but I wasn’t very impressed. He started well, but soon slumped into looking a yard off every ball and wooden. Still, I realise it is a lower level, but I think Whitehall was a miss and would prefer others in his place.

Strikers are judged on their goals to game ratio.

    This dude don’t score!

Come on Rene, you don’t have to drop to 64’s horrible level.
Beck put a shift in today and it was acknowledged by the crowd when he went off.

    He doesn’t score.

People were questioning whether SHEARER should have been in the team before EURO96.

Some say he was playing like a wether in the build up to the finals!

To be fair he played well and only tired and became static because he’s not had that much game time. I could see him to being too bad once he’s got more minutes in to him. Difference was that we played more to his strengths today. I would however obviously have Whitehall up there instead!

Majority who attended are saying he had a decent game Rene. Did you watch the game on stream in sunny Spain?

I thought we looked better when Beck came off. Beck tried hard, no dispute there, but Fadera was the right sub to make for him and Carlton put himself about a lote more, harrying the defence. Even if he is limited and plays like a wild cannon.

He isn’t Whitehall. Not sure why the moaning about him. We improved playing with him today from Tue. We scored one goal with him on the pitch one with him off the pitch. Judge players on what you see, he had decent game and agree with AB post match.
And Mo and Carlton were used in a different way to hit them on the break as they pushed up in the last 15.

Thought them pushing on late in the game gave us more opportunities up front which Mo and Carlton looked to exploit with their pace in behind but Scarborough did not play that way when Beck was on the pitch so the comparison between the three isn’t an equal one IMO. The main thing to take away is that all three players mentioned affected the game when they were on the pitch and as a result we won.

I did judge him on what I saw and he was limited. The goal with him on the pitch was nothing to do with his play. Tried hard, but that’s it. People around me were more critical. It could be that his style doesn’t suit us (imo).

No shots on goal no headers at goal no forcing the keeper to do anything let alone make a save. ( A common theme every game).

Never closed down or challenged the Scarborough No 5. Runs around a bit but never in quite the right area.

Goes down feigning injury far too easily for a big man.

No this is a very very poor signing and playing to his so called strengths won’t improve him.

Sorry this was a tragic signing on many counts.

with the exception of Roberts they are all limited. He is the only player we have who could cut it at FL level

They are, and Beck is among the more limited. Ironking is being quite cutting in his criticisms of Beck, but he raises points I agree with (no shots, in the wrong place). He didn’t really offer much, he was often not in the right place and had to sluggishly react. Not because of lack of effort. We do have to expect players to be poorer than what we have been used to, but I still feel that Beck isn’t a great option.

It may be that Beck is still getting used to the team, and yesterday was the first time we had worked on trying to utilise Beck with the team, rather than aimlessly lump it up to him, so maybe he will look better when there is more of a gelling.

I do at the games. No slagging off, no angry voices, hoping he does well, but forums are for opinions at the end of the day and I have just given mine. He could very well prove doubters wrong in the coming games, and I hope he does.
