Is a darkish emerald green in the Hex Colour Code. It’s RGB index is 25, 112, 16.
November 10, 2020 at 10:54 pm #197289That’s extremely coincidental! I didn’t even know what a Hex colour code was until today. I had to look it up on Wiki in order to select one for something. Now this. I think it’s a sign BPG. A sign that I clearly didn’t know what a Hex code was.

The one excuse that every atheist, that every agnostic will want to use on the final day of judgement is the excuse of ignorance.
“God,I didn’t know You were there.If I just would’ve known I would’ve believed You.I would’ve followed You.I would’ve obeyed You.”
The agnostic says “ I’m not going to say there is no God”
I just simply don’t know whether there’s a God because I don’t think there’s sufficient evidence to come to a conclusion one way or another.
That terrifies me when I hear someone say that, because what they’re saying is not only you’re not willing to affirm the existence of God,but you’re pinning the blame on that unwillingness on God Himself for not giving sufficient information.
But as it says in ROMANS CHAPTER 1 VERSE 20
FOR SINCE THE CREATION OF THE WORLD GOD’S INVISIBLE QUALITIES-HIS ETERNAL POWER AND DIVINE NATURE-HAVE BEEN CLEARLY SEEN,BEING UNDERSTOOD FROW WHAT HAS BEEN MADE,SO THAT PEOPLE ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE.November 10, 2020 at 11:03 pm #197293I’m not pinning blame on anyone. Certainly not pinning it on something that can’t be proven. A ‘final day of judgement’ is way too presumptuous for me. Don’t be terrified, I’m not. Enjoy life in the here and now. When it’s gone it’s gone. Don’t be frit that there’s nowt else after the light goes out. In fact, my advice is don’t think about it too much.
November 10, 2020 at 11:07 pm #197297I believe the Final Judgment is 8th of May, at home to Stevenage!
November 10, 2020 at 11:12 pm #197300…”don’t think about it too much.”
Why do you “waste” your time debating on here when life is sooo short and meaningless, when you could be doing things farrr more “ enjoyable” before you cease to exist?November 10, 2020 at 11:29 pm #197301I do think life is short but it’s not meaningless. Am I wasting my time debating on here? Probably. I often find it enjoyable though.
November 10, 2020 at 11:32 pm #197302I could ask you same question BPG but I think I know your answer. You think you might save some people? Belief in God won’t save me from death.
November 11, 2020 at 12:05 am #197303It’s because I truly care about you Deereyme66 .
“Belief in God won’t save me from death.”
Yes,you’re right in this life.
But God sent his only Son to save sinners like you and me so we can be with him for eternity.
I was an atheist till the age of 61.
I read the Bible one night not even thinking about “salvation”.
My life changed from that very night.November 11, 2020 at 7:42 am #197307And we’re back to posting Bible verses as proof. How do we know God exists? The Bible says so. How do we know the Bible is worth paying attention to? Because it’s the word of God. Circular logic.
November 11, 2020 at 8:56 am #197309Ha ha,I doubt you’d truly care about me if you knew me in person BPG. You may well pity me though. I’m sure many of my friends and family do!
Like I’ve said before, I’m pleased for people who find some solace in the idea of God, it’s a complex complicated old world. Hey, and if you want to share that joy you’ve found with others in the hope they might too find it, then I’ve no problem with that. I’ve got a number of family members who are active in the church. The problem for me is when people preach to convert to a religious movement.
November 11, 2020 at 9:37 am #197315I really do care about you!
P.s “Don’t think about the light going out and don’t be frit.”
Wise words from a very intelligent man.November 11, 2020 at 9:41 am #197320you’re pinning the blame on that unwillingness on God Himself for not giving sufficient information.
Well she has been playing tricks on us from the start, she’s made a fossil record to make it look like we evolved, she’s hidden the evidence of a global flood (but she provided plenty of evidence for localised floods around Mount Sinai) in the last 500,000 years or so.
If there was no god, there would still be religions giving you the solace when somebody close dies and convincing you that you just need to be subservient to your masters for a few short years and you’ll get all of the reward in a far away place.
Is there a god ? I personally don’t believe there is (if there is I’d tend to agree with BRI’s deism, rather than any of the organised religions). Does the Christian god exist? Probably not. Is the bible true ? No. Do bpg’s posts get me closer to believing the bible ? No, in fact the opposite, those kind of posts push me further away.

How can you be pushed further away from a God that doesn’t exist and a Bible that’s not true in your worldview????!
But then again the Christian God doesn’t exist-WELL,PROBABLY NOT!!November 11, 2020 at 12:42 pm #197335But then again the Christian God doesn’t exist-WELL,PROBABLY NOT!!
I don’t claim my beliefs are 100% correct. I don’t KNOW if there is a divine being out there, I don’t KNOW if such a divine being has any sway on human life. BUT I don’t BELIEVE there is a god out there, and I certainly don’t BELIEVE the Christian god is true. I’m sure you will tell us that you KNOW your god exists, just as millions of people have said they KNEW their various gods have existed. A bit of doubt is a good thing, it stops the negative effects of fundamentalism (fundamental atheism, fundamental Christianity, fundamental Islam, fundamental Mithraism, etc are all bad)
How can you be pushed further away from a God that doesn’t exist and a Bible that’s not true in your worldview????!
As I said, I don’t BELIEVE a god exists and my BELIEF can be strengthened by BPG’s style of preaching. The only manic street preachers I can listen to are the ones who released a fantastic album called the Holy Bible.
November 11, 2020 at 4:45 pm #197349Am I wasting my time debating on here? Probably. I often find it enjoyable though.
Deerey, spending a few minutes reading this thread is hardly wasting your time.
Consider ministers of the Church (especially the Catholic Church). They have wasted their whole lives!
November 11, 2020 at 10:49 pm #197363I meant on this board in general NI. But I take your point. I’m impressed 50p got a big-up in for MSPs Holy Bible. I’ve never bothered thinking what my favourite MSP album is, but I suppose that one is the most essential and now I’m thinking about, it probably is my favourite. Not one for playing to the in-laws at Christmas. I think ‘This is my truth, tell me yours’ comes a close second.
November 11, 2020 at 11:45 pm #197370Epicurus, the Greek philosopher had it sussed 2,300 years ago –
Is God willing to prevent suffering but unable to? If so then he is not omnipotent.
Is God able, but unwilling? If so then he is malevolent.
Is God both able and willing? If so why is there still suffering?
Is God neither willing nor able? If so then he is not worthy of the name.
None of the above deserve to be worshipped as a deity.

My life changed from that very night.Read the Quran and then the Torah – compare notes and then get back to us.
I think it’s been calculated that mankind has at various times believed in 3000 different Gods. You don’t believe in 2,999 of them.
November 12, 2020 at 7:17 pm #197401And Christianity has around 30,000 different denominations worldwide (the US alone has 1,200).
They can’t even agree among themselves as to who worships their imaginary friend best!
November 12, 2020 at 7:41 pm #197403In BPG’s defence, he as at least livened up the forum, with well over 80 replies so far.
BUT I for one am thoroughly fed up with his continual proselytising. All contributers so far have made clear their beliefs or lack of beliefs, Enough is enough.November 12, 2020 at 8:11 pm #197404In BPG’s defence, he as at least livened up the forum, with well over 80 replies so far.

November 13, 2020 at 3:57 pm #197425That’s the thing about ‘the Big Questions’. They produce big debates.
