From the ST:-
“A Scunthorpe football team celebrated winning an elusive treble in style with an open top bus tour around the town.
College Wanderers FC is made up of teachers, car salesmen and steel workers, but for a brief period of time, they were treated like professional footballers. The team, who play in the EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District Football League Division One, won the title, the league cup and the division cup this year.”Wonder if Will Swann has been to have a look?
May 25, 2022 at 4:39 pm #237836Possible bottom three position beckons iv’e heard.
May 25, 2022 at 10:51 pm #237845May 26, 2022 at 12:39 am #237848im guessing the owners of the open top bus needed to give it a run out prior to the MOT .. its a fact its not been needed by Swann SUFC all star A team recently and probably will be scrapped well before its needed again ..
Real possibilities for next season without new owners and huge changes … Relegation , Administration or Liquidation
Good luck to both Mansfield and Port Vale for the play off final this weekend .. no real bias or wishing a certain one wins just hoping for a good exiting game and no pens to decide it.
STRONG BIAS … hope some one can stop the Cods getting promoted.. after the Notts County result i got a real nasty feeling they will be back in the EFL next season
May 26, 2022 at 4:17 pm #237861I hope you are wrong, on all points.
May 26, 2022 at 4:44 pm #237863At the moment I am kind of hoping the Cods win the play offs. Unless new owners arrive with a magic wand I am not looking forward to handing the fishy ones 6 points without a fight next season.

May 27, 2022 at 12:25 am #237880The silence is deafening .. whilst i realize we are in a sort of limbo stage re Swann selling and understandably not wishing to fund the club anymore it still would be nice for some one to keep fans informed re plans budget and any potential signings… enticing any half decent players here will be very difficult and if this state of comatose rumbles on through next season we are doomed doomed i say.
May 27, 2022 at 4:41 am #237881It’s all very well saying “we are doomed” but can you look dangerously wild-eyed at the same time? AND, how good is your Scottish accent?
May 27, 2022 at 1:47 pm #237895Done and Henderson ?
May 27, 2022 at 2:30 pm #237897Yes please, as long as the latter’s not Darius or Damien!

…or Dickie, ( one for the sixties kids DM ).
May 27, 2022 at 4:11 pm #237903Vague recollection of Dickie Henderson. Was he bigger in the 50s than 60s?
May 27, 2022 at 4:54 pm #237906He was pretty short in both decades.

May 28, 2022 at 9:39 am #237918The only issues with Done and Henderson would be fitness.
Once you get into your mid 50s – you tend to slow down and attract injuries as several Bru contributors would undoubtedly confirm.May 30, 2022 at 8:50 am #238008Okay. Now we need to see players starting to arrive. (And yes, I know most contracts do not finish til 30th June)
The next ten days will tell us much:
a) Whether it is worth people buying season tickets and
b) Whether we are hanging around for the usual leftovers to be shunted in, for the most part, AFTER the lads are already back in training.May 30, 2022 at 9:36 am #238013May 30, 2022 at 9:44 am #238017Okay. I cant see any real positives or feel enthused by anything to do with the club at the moment
i am however very fond of passion fruit smoothies and IMO like the Iron they are just hanging on before being liquidizedMay 30, 2022 at 10:29 am #238019Get ready for 5 weeks of restaurant menus, latest season ticket prices and otherwise radio silence from the club.
There would have to incomings at ownership level before we can hope for any positive news on the player front.
