RIP John Wilkinson. Sad news…
Yep a real shame, loved Wilko Johnson he was the heartbeat of Dr Feelgood with his choppy sharp guitar playing. RIP Wilko
Way before his time
Takes me back to a time and place. A hovel in a new city, but lots of possibilities and my whole life ahead of me. And it still sounds good.
One for those who’ve never seen it before. Classic Wilko
Fantastic stuff DM thanks for posting. Wilko played almost entirely with the backs of his fingernails or thumb and first finger pressed together like an imaginary pick, came off stage often with bleeding nails and finger ends. He didn’t give a shit about that because it gave him the sound and style of playing he wanted to put over. What a great band Feelgood were, sadly missed but never forgotten 😎🎸
Very appropriate DM, well done. 👏👏👏
Ha ha, genuinely buzzin about today’s news, though I do like 64s Ding Dong the Witch is Dead drop 🤣
New Iron song for the next few years?
RIP Smithy and Craig Gill, who we lost this time 6 years ago.
a bit of perfection from St Emmylou and the Hot band
so good it makes me cry
That’s a very old video Fansy.
Mrs NI’s school chum whose performing name is Helen McCookerybook was the partner of Martin Stephenson, though I don’t think they’re together anymore.
She was in a post-punk group called Helen & The Horns when he was in The Daintiees.
Had a couple of drinks with them a few years back when they played The Cluny in Newcastle.
Nice guy with some great original songs. Washington born (and we’re not talking DC or State!).
I’ve met Helen and saw her play solo gig,no they’re not together now, they were then.Claim to fame ,I’ve played on stage with Martin twice.Long story. I’m going to watch him now with the Daintees on Friday
And now, all the way from Conisborough, Denaby and district, for one night only live in Tesco’s…. it’s… the Reytons!
Rubbish video, sublime track.
Meet you at 8, down at the front
Cherish my 7″ copy this and a fave for party sets. Never knew Neville Staple says ‘Bernie Rhodes knows, don’t argue!’ at the start, untill I read his autobiography. About when he managed them, the crap he used to come out with, and an early France gig. It’s a good read.
Dropping like bloody flies now. RIP Martin Duffy.
Nathaniel Rateliffe and the Night Sweats.
And if we’re name dropping, I was once a roadie for the Detroit Emeralds (for one gig only in ‘ull)…
Brings back a lot of memories from 1989 Siderite 😀👏
