72 years since the first round of the FA cup without the Iron taking part.
Thanks Peter.
November 5, 2022 at 12:20 pm #248184I would suggest he’s more of a millstone, round our necks but you are completely correct.

November 5, 2022 at 12:55 pm #248186Also no stock left in the shop in the run up to Christmas – do you get the feeing Swann is either skint or given up?
November 5, 2022 at 1:25 pm #248187I think both Ironawe.

November 5, 2022 at 2:32 pm #248188Death by a thousand cuts ! Now the club shop suffers, hope that those who will now be disappointed do not blame the shop staff.
Further disconnection with supporters that has been going on for almost 9 years now. Does appear latest criticisms have created a spiteful backlash. But not surprised – as they say ‘A wise person sometimes changes their mind. A FOOL never does’

November 5, 2022 at 8:09 pm #248197Actually 71 years. Despite being a League club in Nov 1952, when the cup competition was organised in 1951. the Iron were a non league club, and had to enter the competition in the 4th qualifying round. On November 4th they lost 0-1 away to Hereford before a bumper 10,000 crowd at Edgar Street.
November 5, 2022 at 9:36 pm #248200Cash flow problem regarding purchasing new stock? Suppliers not been paid? All speculation but it’s a rightful concern, before anybody starts complaining.
It’s only a rightful comcern if it is the truth. At this moment in time it is only conjecture.
November 5, 2022 at 9:41 pm #248201Actually 71 years. Despite being a League club in Nov 1950, when the cup competition was organised in 1950. the Iron were a non league club, and had to enter the competition in the 4th qualifying round. On November 4th they lost 0-1 away to Hereford before a bumper 10,000 crowd at Edgar Street.
November 6, 2022 at 1:16 pm #248206Feel sorry for the children expecting their Scunthorpe United kits on Christmas day. The shop has always had plenty of stock at Christmas. If this is true and the shop isn’t being re-stocked by Swann it would be no surprise to me as it would just be a continuation of his total disregard for supporters. Its beginning to feel as if he actually hates our supporters due to us disagreeing with his disastrous tenure of our Club and to where we are now, as nothing is ever his fault.

November 6, 2022 at 3:09 pm #248208I wouldn’t worry too much, I am certain Lee Turnbullsh*te will issue a meaningful statement any week now!

Hearing the EGO didn’t like the latest items of criticism ! As they say truth hurts. But the next statement could be ‘The’ Statement from the EGO there again it could be a statement that is a precis of the EGO’s statement. But we all know it is everyone else who is at fault !!!

He has ALWAYS hated those of us that didn’t fall for his BS from day one, he hates anyone that dares question him, listen to any interview he has ever done and note the change in his tone if anybody questions a decision of him or god forbid dares to critisise him.

Thanks Peter.
Not quite true, I can remember 3 seasons between 2007/08 and 2010/11 when we didn’t enter until the 3rd round. You remember those days? Back when the club was run like a hobby.

Yeah, but we have a purchase ledger and non-league football…so much more professional than those ‘hobby years’.

November 7, 2022 at 2:13 pm #248239You’re absolutely spot on with your comment Pat O’Cake. We’ve been to every forum when Swann attended and if ever anyone disagreed with him or asked him any questions which needed an honest answer his tone changed on a sixpence and he became agitated.

Certainly did, also thought the older the speaker the greater the sarcasm from Swann and Rodwell.
Lost count of the number of times the term ‘we are professionals in the entertainment industry’.

Whilst us older posters were certainly around in the 60’s, remembering what happened is a major problem. What I had for tea yesterday is about as far back as I can remember.

Ah well, sigh.Cheers IA, I wasn’t sure how far back the tradition went of top 2 tier clubs entering in the 3rd round.

November 8, 2022 at 4:07 pm #248316Is it true Matthews changed his boots at half time because Brownsword kept catching him and kicking him into the stand?

Not sure on that but he did change wings and Bill Shankly did say on another occasion Jackie Brownsword was the best Left Back at that time.
