July 10, 2022 at 9:24 am #240285Tuned in the other night and I was shocked to hear Jonathan Pearce commentating, given it’s only women allowed on there, according to some. :-)
July 10, 2022 at 10:21 am #240286Did i not say the match day commentator was a man and Mrs two got her way? I am only highlighting what is going on in society ( maybe not the right word). I could have been shot down in flames if during this tournament there were more men than women pundits but I am sure you can all see I was right, it’s not as though it’s the first time I have pointed this out, some or all might be ok with this but I am not, end all this political correctness and diversity especially in football, the knee, rainbow flag and lace day and of course the “me too”.
July 10, 2022 at 10:30 am #240288Of course if we didn’t have any racists, sexists and homophobes we wouldn’t have any political correctness.
July 10, 2022 at 11:02 am #240292God forbid women complain about misconduct. That’s the real problem, not the misconduct itself! :-)
July 10, 2022 at 11:09 am #240294Certainly not racist, certainly averse to homosexually, sexist not so sure, never let a woman pay for a drink or a meal, open doors for them and let them go in before me, but then again I have told a group of women they shouldn’t be allowed at football (male), so I will leave that to everyone to decide. One observation I have made is not many men take there wife’s or girlfriends to away match’s any ideas why or is it just a male thing after all?

Political correctness is annoying when it prevents people from being able to discuss anything, or occasionally find humour in life, even in satire (not speaking about Roy ‘Chubby’ Brown here). However, rainbow laces, women’s days and the like are no issue and it is bizarre people get so irritated by attempts at making others feel welcome, especially when said people haven’t been in the past.
How do these things affect others in any way? Awaywego doesn’t have to wear rainbow laces, but it might make a gay man or lesbian woman feel accepted after decades of not being. I am just as weary of people getting offended by these things as I am people getting offended by a Ricky Gervais joke. No-one cares about your offense.

July 10, 2022 at 11:59 am #240297Agree with most of that S, but I am not offended, surely football as done it’s bit now to support and make them feel welcome, but it does seem to be no avail only 1 player as come out no need to carry on doing these political correct things. Why keep doing the same things and expect a different outcome.

July 10, 2022 at 2:23 pm #240298Just tilt your shoulder to the right a bit there awaywego. Some of those chips will go great with this bbq burger.
July 10, 2022 at 8:41 pm #240302Chips are they the ones at all the different grounds you have tasted them at just asking ni

No. I was one of the only people who didn’t like the fact the club let him go without tying him down to a contract and them sending him out on loan.
You’d know that if you weren’t a forum part timer !
You must have been on gardening leave when I wrote that.
July 10, 2022 at 10:10 pm #240307Beep, beep, beep, beep, WG is reversing.

You, and anyone else who’s frequently offended by the promotion of equality at SUFC can always take it up with the club. There’s a complaint procedure – here’s the clubs equality policy that you might want to reference and point out the things you want to end with immediate effect. Let us know how you get on:

July 11, 2022 at 11:30 am #240315Are you sure you haven’t gone to the dark side Deerey?, Thought you left it to me to promote what Scunthorpe do well. Still not offended just don’t like the promotions of them.
July 11, 2022 at 12:11 pm #240318So you’re saying the club’s doing well with its equality policy? Make your mind up 🤣
July 11, 2022 at 1:58 pm #240320Yes Deerey they are doing well with their equality policy very PC, doesn’t mean I have like it though I just have to lump it,
July 12, 2022 at 9:57 am #240369Well if your prepared to lump it you might as well shut up then. Simples
July 12, 2022 at 12:38 pm #240386When you shut up about Swanny maybe I could do the same.
July 12, 2022 at 1:14 pm #240392I’m not prepared to lump it about Ernest Prawn and his ruining of our beloved club so I will keep on keeping on, whereas you have chosen to like it and lump it. Your choice, your chip on your shoulder.
