Most of it about the club and Most of it factual.
Looking at the response so far this week and the uptake in Iron trust memberships, I’d say a fair few of us give us a shit.
September 26, 2023 at 2:47 pm #273594Personal shite CBRP which most don’t give a shite about.
Don’t think the majority are bothered about his jail time it’s the dishonesty regarding the matter when asked about it prior to the Athletic story. Now apparently it is important enough to warrant him running away and bleating on about him tarnishing the club’s name in the process. He’s deceived people he has abused people and he’s lied to people about his past, seems pretty straightforward IMO.

April 28, 2024 at 3:51 am #284647Yesterday has to be the new lowest low?
April 28, 2024 at 7:43 am #284652April 28, 2024 at 8:27 am #284655Totally Agree MKI.
I’d lost the love with the Iron with the total incompetence by the previous owners.
The ship has been steadied albeit still much work to do.
Unfortunately stuck with the team and management from before. The fan base is there if we could just ever get the monkey off the back in front of a decent crowd.
Yesterday was still the remnants of past on the pitch and in the dugout. I do hope Michelle removes those remnants.
I’ve never bought a season ticket since 1977 when I started supporting and I’m really considering buying two even though I won’t be able to make 50% of the games. Just to help the New owners and club.
So not a new low just a good point to shut the curtains and realise it will get better.UTI
April 28, 2024 at 9:00 am #284670Attendance was 8036 with 1455 from Boston – a new record for the National League North.
Paradoxically – being beaten in your own stadium in front of over 8,000 fans by a bunch of part-timers with a compact 24 man squad and a fraction of the budget is a ‘success’?
We should differentiate between the football and the ownership/administration of the club.
Football = Failure
Ownership = SuccessIt would appear that we don’t have the ‘moolah’ to buy our way out of this division and then out of the NL.
We don’t have an academy, so won’t be developing any of our own players.
We don’t have a reserve team or an U23s or an U19s/U18s – no development paths or succession plans.
So what will we be next season?
A nursery club for lower level EFL teams to send their untried youngsters to experience men’s football, get game time, to make mistakes, learn and develop?
The ‘quality’ of player that we are able to attract will diminish adding further to the challenge of constructing a cohesive competitive squad.
I’ve noted that player retention / turnover is very low & high at this level and we will possibly see more of that at our club in the coming seasons.
We probably all need to adjust our hopes & expectations.
We don’t have the tools in the toolbox to make it back to the EFL.However – we do still have and own our own football club… which is a great success!

April 28, 2024 at 10:10 am #284680That once premiership side Oldham will have no academy next season, at this level there just affordable.
April 28, 2024 at 10:21 am #284681Affordable you say? Bring it on!

April 28, 2024 at 12:07 pm #284704I have been looking for a perspective on yesterday.
Felt the reffing was up to the standards to which we have sadly become so accustomed over the last season.
I never really felt that Boston were gonna score. I thought we might.
‘Losing on penalties’ really was the tag for that match.
We lost because when Beestin was assaulted in the box. Mr Kettle was not bright enough to know that this is called a penalty.
Furthermore, when DW met a superb through pass and was cutting across the box to attempt an angled drive across the GK into empty space on his left, a defender put two hands onto his upper back and clearly toppled him over. Definitely no hint of a dive.
Mr Kettle did to us what so many other refs have done this season.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 28, 2024 at 12:34 pm #284713The linesman on the main stand side gave a few push fouls by Boston players on our lads but the final one in extra time which was bang in front of him he completely ignored, very strange. Moments later he called the ref over and after a short chat the ref reported something occurring to our bench and chief steward, I’m guessing maybe some racial abuse may have been the issue but I’ve not heard anything on that score TBF.
April 28, 2024 at 1:59 pm #284724Obviously our theatricals have not gone un-noticed.
Beestin was a penalty.
DW yes looked like he got a shove but he spends more time diving around and not actually doing anything constructive there’s no wonder ref’s have cottoned on to his behaviour.Shit ref’s to top it off. Unfortunately this is the standard we will continue to receive. Get used to it.

is it fair anyone making any comments when there has been no talk from the club of any change, or are you all already bored, also some already mentioned would be out of our price range anywayAt a time when we should all be coming together, some people can’t help themselves, can they.
