If you’d ever been in the East stand (and we know you haven’t Deerey) fans have been chastised for making to much noise, Just iron is not far off.

I’ll let my father in law know he must have been talking to himself sat next to an empty seat in the East Stand all these years. Thus spoke awaywego.

I’ll press my point, Deerey. I sighed after the negatives because the appointment looked pretty sound for the reasons given. I knew ..as you do ..that it didn’t lay to rest the fears we share. But …taken on its own .. it seems like a good appointment and maybe a cause for a glimmer of optimism. The ’30 yard screamer’ wasn’t…as I suspect you know .. intended as a comparison. It was hyperbole.
In layman’s terms my whole take is that maybe we could unite around the positives occasionally without having to always draw attention to the shadows that linger and that no one actually understands yet.

Completey understand your ‘whole take’ JI, though I don’t think it’s completely accurate to say no one actually understands the ‘shadows that linger’. There are elements that don’t take a rocket scientist to compute.

Ok. Maybe I’ve not dug as deep as some … but I’m still hoping for the best whilst recognising the grounds for reservations. Eventually one of the ‘sides’ that have locked horns here and elsewhere will have to eat humble pie. I’m going to enjoy what I can until our old friends ‘Truth and Reality’ show up … as they inevitably will.

I don’t think anyone should have to eat humble pie over their own views on the big issues, unless they’ve actively participated in personal attacks and constant ridiculing of opinions that aren’t similar to theirs. Have a listen to the latest Bru podcast. The last point is discussed a little on it.

Agreed ….. to an extent. As ever there is plenty of room for divergent views. Some of the expression of opinions I’ve witnessed on here have strayed into the ‘attacks and ridicule’ territory and those proved wrong definitely won’t be feeling great.
My experience is that even when disagreements are conducted reasonably … it’s pretty humbling when one’s own perspective isn’t proved correct. ( I guess that’s why I’m always making sure that I’m right !!!)

Agreed, it’s pretty humbling, as you say, but having to ‘eat humble pie’ is a charge against another, as opposed to a voluntary action. That aside, the ‘attacks and ridicule’ haven’t been inititiated from those critical of Hilton, in the main. Perhaps why I took issue with your disappointment that every poster isn’t shouting ‘David! David! rah rah rah!’ over the appointment of a new Director. Aware I’ve exaggerated a bit there!

Have for Swanny. Find me anyone who supports his Chairmanship and can make a credible case for their position.

The reality of building a new 12k seater stadium? The complete refurbishment of The Sands Venue? Apartments in the car park? Championship football?

Leaving the club in a better position than when he arrived?

    Yeah, right!

Are these in effect salaried employees or are they donating a significant sum of money each season to the club?
    Significant sum = £50k
    Or simply volunteers?
    What’s in it for them?

I read on tinernet somewhere 30k was the sum paid per director AA but absolutely no way to verify that..
