Heavens, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve had insults hurled in my direction by you, Pat, to say nothing of the numerous accusations of ‘lying’ you’ve made when all that I’ve offered is an opinion. Now here you are at it again. My recollection is that you were moaning and groaning about pies, either running out or being cold, or maybe it was pasties, I can’t remember, frankly, but it was certainly food-related.
I insulted you ONE time and then posted later apologising as I was out of order (something you have never done or are man enough to do) The lying accusation I will not apologise for as you have lied numerous times, and even on this very thread! Accusing people of saying things they have not or having agenda’s that they dont have is not an opinion it is lying!!
If you had bothered to read my posts properly in the past the only complaints I made about food was the catering and hospitality as a whole, Swann was banging on about the club needing more income, yet we have lines of people on a matchday wanting to spend money at the refreshment outlets and bars but there is nothing to spend it on as their is either no stock or not enough people to serve it! All justified complaints when every single revenue stream is vital to a small club such as ours!
April 30, 2021 at 12:12 pm #205961To the same extent Bobby? I don’t think so.
I didn’t say it was.
May 1, 2021 at 1:07 pm #206019No, NI, it is not a “lie”. The abuse Wharton took on this board was absolutely disgraceful. How or why he tolerated it was beyond me at the time. Swann refused to tolerate it and whatever anyone’s views on Swann might be he was absolutely right to do so.
May 1, 2021 at 1:16 pm #206021Pat, that is a joke. I apologise to people who deserve an apology. The number of times you’ve accused me of being a liar would make a libel lawyer blush, even when all that I’ve done is offer an opinion. Yet here you are again hurling false accusations in my direction.
May 1, 2021 at 1:19 pm #206022I remember on the old board someone puta Gif of Mr Wharton pole dancing and another of him driving a car with Adkins and Crozzer in bouncing around, I think it was just after promotion to the championship.
I expect Wharton was not happy. There was also a video posted by y Griffiny which was a compilation of Hooper goals, I still look at it from time to time, I think some of our current crop of strikers should watch it for inspiration.

Bucks you have lied on this very thread for Christ Sake!!! How many times do I have to tell you that accusing people of things they have not said or done is LYING NOT AN OPINION!
As for libel, bring it on, I wont need a lawyer, just my login details for this site…..case closed.
May 3, 2021 at 9:20 am #206185Pat I know you haven’t been on the forum that much lately but some things don’t change, mate, he just isn’t worth it, the majority know you are correct, it’s pointless exchanging stuff with him, forget him and move on.

May 4, 2021 at 4:00 pm #206261Pat, whenever I’ve offered an opinion about something your inevitable response has been “I said no such thing”, or “so and so said no such thing”. You do this regardless of the fact that I haven’t claimed you or anyone else “said” anything. You’ve then gone on to accuse me of lying. If anyone should be in any doubt just look at your comments above. Exactly the same as always.
In fact your de facto response to any and every opinion I’ve offered is to accuse me of being a liar. All because I referred to pies. Jeez, it’s like a junior school playground. In fact you could do to go back to junior school to understand that when someone offers an opinion about something it does not mean they’re claiming anyone “said” anything.
May 4, 2021 at 4:12 pm #206262Nobody is any doubt about you Mr Gaslighter, go on, jog on and get that dog walked.

I don’t remember whether Pat complained about pies, but in the quote below you clearly refer to him saying he did moan about pies. Therefore, to say that you weren’t claiming he said anything on this seems untrue.
A pretty pathetic and cheap shot, Pat. This isn’t and never has been about who is right and who is wrong and if that’s all you care about then I suggest you think again. I’m not going to apologise for one moment for backing the chairman against the ridiculous arguments you used to come out with about bloody pies.
May 4, 2021 at 5:43 pm #206267Love the ways he says it’s like a junior school playground after yet another “you started it, not me” post!

The whole post sounds like a bitchy letter from a divorcee to the ex-wife (or husband)!

Ok I will try one last time Bucks and then if you still fail to understand I will give up as this is getting beyond tiresome.
1. When you say that (insert name) has an agenda against Mr Swann or (insert name) hates Mr Swanns wealth, unless you can back that up with facts and or evidence it is an out and out lie, not an opinion.
2. When you say I came out with “ridiculous arguments about pies” when I have done no such thing, this is again a lie not an opiniom.
May 5, 2021 at 11:00 am #206294Lol, the biggest irony in all this is that it was actually Bucks going on and on about pies with his pointless review of his eating experience, including a pie, at The Ropery! The phrase ‘yum yum’ was used 😂. And then, pretty much any time any poster, including Pat, criticised the catering arrangements at GP, Bucks would dismiss it as ‘moaning about pies again’. Talk about rewriting history!
May 5, 2021 at 6:34 pm #206322Pat, don’t be ridiculous:
1. Someone is perfectly entitled to say they believe (insert name) has an agenda. I believe you have an agenda against the catering at GP. You can’t just say “no I don’t” and then claim that I’m lying. Based on your definition everyone on this board would be serial liars.
2. You’ve criticised the catering at GP on numerous occasions. If I inadvertently said the word “pie” to then accuse me of lying is taking pettiness to the extreme.
The real irony is that accusing someone of lying when they haven’t done so can be grounds for defamation. Not that it would ever be worth it on a board such as this, of course, but the principle remains.
Again, this is more like the playground, so why don’t you take your little mates and run off to get an ice-cream. Obviously not at GP, of course, because according to you there’d undoubtedly be something wrong with it.
May 5, 2021 at 7:25 pm #206326Told you so Pat, his attempt at gaslighting is a symptom of his own jssues, let it be, he really isn’t worth it.

There you go again with your legal threats. Nobody knows who the F you are, other than a sad man who likes to wind people up on a football forum.
Worried about your precious reputation?
I wouldn’t bother.

1. If you believe someone has an agenda then back it up with some facts or evidence as I have asked you for many times in the past but as always, when challenged on your unfounded allegations you either disappear for a few weeks or accuse others of bullying you for simply calling you out!
2. My critisism of the catering was in direct response to Mr Swann criticising fans for not turning up and him saying revenue income from fans was vital to Scunthorpe United, something I 100% agree with, I have said many times matchday revenue is fundamental to clubs the size of ours, so when I see fans at games with money burning a hole in their pocket but nothing to spend it on then I am going to get wound up about it and rightly so. But it is not just the catering it is the stopping of open weekends, poor quality club shop merchandise, new kits not being available at the start of the season, these are all things I rightly highlighted but you and yer mate completely ignored these points and kept saying I was complaining about pies…..A LIE!!!
And stop banging on about defamation, either grow a pair of conkers and take me on legally or shut up about it! I have all my evidence from simply logging on here…you don’t!
May 6, 2021 at 12:48 pm #206358Then stop calling me a liar, Pat, for simply offering an opinion! But, surprise, surprise, you just can’t stop yourself, can you.
You seem to think it’s fine to hurl false accusations in my direction but when I refer to pies, which btw was a generic reference to anything and everything to do with catering, which as I recall turned into ‘piegate’, you go mad. Of course the usual suspects back you up, but no surprises there.
As for your points about catering and merchandising I think you’ll find that I agreed the club needed to improve. My point was and remains, however, that the moaning and groaning about these things was way over the top.
As for growing a pair of conkers, I wish you would. All of this just because I didn’t — and still don’t — agree that this was the major issue you claim. I’m very happy to criticise Swann but right now I think there are far bigger things to criticise him about than catering and merchandise. Talk about petulance. I’m sure you’ll find some conkers in the playground if you look hard enough.
May 6, 2021 at 1:37 pm #206363Buck’s it’s official, your brain really does hurt.
May 6, 2021 at 1:51 pm #206365Pathetic. Pat and others have justified multiple times why improvements to the catering and match day experience would benefit loyal supporters and the club with increased revenue.
Yet the man who hardly ever goes to matches still thinks he knows best and repeatedly calls regular attendees moaners and groaners or the usual suspects!!
How many games have you watched this season? You started this thread as the angry man, but you have quickly reverted to calling anyone with a valid complaint or suggestion moaners and groaners.
All topped of with your usual whining about defamation and your implied threats of legal action.
May 6, 2021 at 2:30 pm #206372You started this thread as the angry man, but you have quickly reverted to calling anyone with a valid complaint or suggestion moaners and groaners.
☝🏻This!
Every single thread.
May 6, 2021 at 3:35 pm #206380It’s true Wharton did get criticism and even some abuse towards the end of his tenure, but it was nowhere near as sharp and sustained as the criticism which PS has attracted. That’s partly due to the consistently poor performances of the last few seasons, but also the raised expectations followed by deep disappointment, mixed in with a more provocative personal style. His actions have also led to a feeling that the club is belongs to him and him alone, rather than the fans.
Hence the grief, I think.3 users thanked author for this post.

By all means have your opinion, you’re entitled to it, but don’t make out others have said things they have not while your doing it.
The only reason piegate as you call it raised it’s head was because YOU and nobody else made reference to them whenever anyone dared to critisise Mr Swann who you wouldn’t have a bad word said against.
I disagree that right now there are far bigger things than catering & merchandise to worry about, while fans have been away it was the perfect opportunity for the owners of the club to look at these VITAL revenue streams and get it right for when fans can come back to the stadium.
You did not agree that the club needed to improve, in fact in one post after you had attended a rare evening game you accused myself and others of making things up and that there were no issues with catering!
Mr Swann made promises when he took the club over and not one of them has come to fruition, the stadium is in a worse state, the fans have never felt so disengaged from the club, the matchday experience is best described as dull (and thats being kind), the hospitality is an absolute circus (corporate and regular), open weekends which were a real link between the club and the fans have been stopped, the one feeble attempt we did make at one was farcical and akin to the family fun day on Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights, the replica kits are cheap and tacky and not available to buy when the season kicks off, we sell tickets for the family stand and fail to tell the people purchasing them that the bar in that stand has been closed for good before they enter the stadium, the youth system produces nothing anymore, loan signings that don’t give a toss, inept Manager after inept Manager playing the same boring negative football. So there you have it Bucks, need I go on??? because there is plenty more where that came from, my issues with the running of this football club go far deeper than bloody pies!!!!!
May 7, 2021 at 3:25 pm #206441Pat, I did not accuse you or anyone else of making anything up! I’m sure you and others have had problems but tell me of any restaurant or catering outlet that is perfect. The point I made at the time was that I hadn’t experienced any problems at all, couldn’t see anyone who had and that I felt the whole issue had been blown completely out of proportion.
None of that means people shouldn’t complain or criticise Swann — in fact the complete opposite. My point was and remains that constructive criticism is far more likely to engender change and improvements than continuous moaning and groaning.
As for Wharton, the criticism he received on this board was unbelievable and appalling. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just kidding themselves. I remember at the time being amazed that Wharton did nothing to stop the comments being made and one thing nobody should criticise Swann for doing is ensuring that he and his family don’t go through what Wharton did.

What were the statistics on that from a sample size of 1 evening match. From that you smarmily concluded that all the complaints by REGULARS were made up by supporters with an agenda.
