Our fans do have a habit of letting us down don’t they? Now it’s unreasonable to ask questions about whether or not owners have the funds needed
I trust that the new regime has the funds to stabilise the club and don’t think it’s unreasonable for him to ask such questions, given our recent history3 users thanked author for this post.

I trust that the new regime has the funds to stabilise the club and don’t think it’s unreasonable for him to ask such questions, given our recent historyAndy Comfort is good at his job. It was a reasonable question, one which he asked on behalf of fans. Elliott made a fool of himself.

October 7, 2023 at 10:46 am #274914Listened to it now. It was a reasonable question to ask. Could have been handled better.
October 7, 2023 at 11:04 am #274916Asking questions was what we should have been doing with Hilton. There’s nothing wrong with asking questions. It allows answers to be out in the open, as much as possible, for fans to have trust and to allow owners to be accountable. It’s not necessarily to attack them.
The fans abusing will then moan when journalists don’t give us the time of day when we need them.

October 7, 2023 at 11:13 am #274918Elliott went about it the wrong way, no need to play the smart arse, this is serious stuff and he handled that part of the interview poorly IMO. Fans criticising Andy Comfort need to grow up.

October 7, 2023 at 11:29 am #274921From what I have seen on your posts can I take it he’s not the man you thought he was and the man you told me was when I criticized him.
October 7, 2023 at 11:32 am #274922It’s a very pertinent question when you consider that his interviewee had been of the opinion that without Hilton the club couldn’t possibly survive ,and expressed it almost daily

Lost cause, those.
October 7, 2023 at 11:49 am #274927I don’t think anyone should be happy till we’ve driven him and Turnbull from the club and not forgetting Sharp either.
October 7, 2023 at 11:53 am #274929☝ unity?

October 7, 2023 at 11:58 am #274933I’ve only seen one fan criticise Sharpe ,and non criticising Turnbull

I’m very happy to have all 3 with us, sorry if that disappoints you but I think they all have something to offer. Supporting the previous chairman does not necessarily indicate agreement with his plans and actions. Would you like to suggest your preferred alternatives.

October 7, 2023 at 12:41 pm #274937I am happy in this moment, that we have a new chairperson, who is actually an Iron fan. So I won’t encourage any interrogation unless something actually appears to be wrong.
I will not ask others to do the same, but please go a little easier for now. Whatever happens The Iron must survive.
Good luck to the lads for the Brackly match. Hopefully things have happed behind the scenes that will make them more settled now.

October 7, 2023 at 12:54 pm #274939I trust Michelle has assembled around her the people she trusts and values to take the club forward. That’ll do for me.

Entitled and egotistical.

Where did you find the interview please Deerey?
October 7, 2023 at 2:00 pm #274944Seen several comments (good & bad) about this interview between @andycomfort & @simonelliott33.
1) Anyone sending abusive messages to Andy needs to have a word with themselves.
2) Andy’s ‘unnecessary’ question was ABSOLUTELY the right question to ask as a journalist. (1/3) https://t.co/dPkWFwKsIK

October 7, 2023 at 2:03 pm #274945I am certain if we were taken over by the Saudi Royal Family we would have people asking the question if they had the funds, if they have passed the fit and proper tests and satisfy the Football Authorities you would imagine they have, it is time to stop posting about finances and let them get on with it because that is their problem not ours.
October 7, 2023 at 2:06 pm #274946October 7, 2023 at 2:15 pm #274947Ah well a journalist asked a question. Some didn’t mind it some seem to have taken great umbridge.
Simon isn’t bothered so can we all move on. Thanks.

October 7, 2023 at 3:29 pm #274952It doesn’t disappoint me Cass we all have different views, I just can’t forgive Turnbull for threatening the protesters with police action after telling me personally he was in it for the fans, and I don’t trust Sharp if he gets fed up he’s made it quite clear he wants the money he puts in back a la Fenty and others, I know if me you or many others won the lottery we’d put in, Simon there’d be no strings attached. Thank God Swanny didn’t want all the money him ,coolsilk and his missus put in. Simon I don’t honestly know I just have a laugh at his expense.

Get what you’re saying Mick, but the lack of finances during the last “takeover” ultimately became “our” problem.
But agreed, a lot of work to be done and the new team need to be allowed to get on with it.

It was Simon being bothered that caused the fuss in the 1st place.
It certainly was a correct question considering previous failed attemptsOctober 8, 2023 at 10:22 am #275014It doesn’t disappoint me Cass we all have different views, I just can’t forgive Turnbull for threatening the protesters with police action after telling me personally he was in it for the fans, and I don’t trust Sharp if he gets fed up he’s made it quite clear he wants the money he puts in back
Two things in response:-
There is little doubt in my mind that LT was a mouthpiece and spoke under instruction. I’d consider what he told you represents his true feelings.
If Ian Sharpe loaned the money to pay the wages then of course he would expect it back. We don’t know the terms of the arrangement do we?3 users thanked author for this post.

Encourage? You were very abusive to supporters and this forum when there was a lot that appeared to be and was proven to be wrong.

The money the club received from Ian Sharp was a loan, it was entered into the clubs accounts as a loan, I know this to be a fact and have seen it.
It was never a gift, it was never intended to be a gift.
There’s only ever been one person that ever claimed that it wasn’t a loan and that was Hilton and he has been proved more than once to be economical with the truth!4 users thanked author for this post.
October 8, 2023 at 4:18 pm #275021The one person who confirmed it wasn’t a gift was not me or anyone else on this forum, But St Simon on tuther side like I said plenty of us saw it and am led to believe it was in an interview as well. Wouldn’t trust any of your facts SNOT you lied to us all before over Turkey remember on one post you worked there and on another you’d never been in your life, did you ever tell us which one was correct lol.
October 8, 2023 at 4:58 pm #275022How is it,if you look back,Cassidystash says..supporting the previous chairman…
Yet,in the next post,Lord Kitchener says..I am happy in this moment, that we have a new chairperson. ? Wiping the name woman from our vocabulary (pregnant person anyone?) surely isn’t the way to go?1 user thanked author for this post.
