If the challenge was the reverse way would we be asking for a red? I think if we’re honest we would say “Yes”. A reckless, ill-timed challenge that forced the ref to make a decision. No complaints from me.
September 4, 2023 at 4:02 pm #271053It’s a crap tackle and one which could easily have caused serious injury. The fact he didn’t hurt him is just luck.
Disappointing to hear some of our fans having a pop at Elliott, yes he didn’t have the best of games, but he never stopped trying which is all you can ask when a player is having an off day.
Surprised to hear that. I’m not a huge fan of him but I would have thought after the last 2 games and his celebrations he’d have become a bit of a crowd favourite.

February 3, 2024 at 4:58 pm #280338Bravo Alfreton in holding the Tamworth Tornado to a draw.
February 20, 2024 at 10:02 pm #281436Oh dear. Up next, the in-form Alfreton.
February 21, 2024 at 7:44 pm #281548Reds 1-3 Iron
Away end can accommodate up to 1,200
Att: 1,650
I went with a 3-1 win to us back then.
It ended up 2-2.3 clean sheets and 3 wins on the bounce for them.
I’m sadly (very sadly) going to go:
Iron 0-2 Alfreton
February 22, 2024 at 1:00 am #281551early prediction.
Its clear under whatever circumstances JD has lost the dressing room and some appear just not to give a toss..Scunny 1 Alfreton 3
Att sub 3k and a tense toxic atmos.Cant see you getting more than a single point from the next two fixtures (Alf n Chester) which will pile the pressure on JD and the board to act.

Post match interview when Dean said the players didn’t respond to him after he approached them about the early 2nd half goal last night, just goes to prove that for whatever reason that they aren’t listening to him.
Once that happens it’s pretty much over for the manager.
They’re in form so I’ll go for 1-2 to Alfreton, which will more than likely result in Dean getting the push.
February 22, 2024 at 6:48 am #2815621-1 is the shortest priced score-cast at 11/2
1-2… 12/1
0-2… 22/1
1-3… 33/1February 24, 2024 at 4:04 pm #281631well that was an absolute crap first half.
February 24, 2024 at 5:43 pm #281635Agreed but much better second half and a deserved late win courtesy of Will Evans massive header. Ref was truly appalling but it’s nice to see a team that comes to spoil, roughhouse and feign injury to waste time get beat late on, makes it seem all a lot sweeter. UTI

February 24, 2024 at 11:22 pm #281654Alfreton deserved absolutely nothing from that- awful to watch.
Can’t say it was much better from us but that goal felt huge and relieves some pressure off Jimmy and the players.
Clunan was more positive today but the midfield is still not right, far too gaps everywhere. Thought Ogle was much better and the centre backs did a good job dealing with McDonagh.

Much better second half and well chuffed Alfreton time wasting especially by their keeper came back to bite them on the bum.. Terrible to listen to and the ref sounded the worst so far this season with some really strange decisions even for this level.
MASSIVE WIN and hopefully can act as a confidence boost n spring board for a winning run.
