What a great result in what is going to be a huge month for the club, repeat next Tuesday at Kidderminster and the biggest game of the season follows on Saturday 22nd March. Butler must be well chuffed, he’s had a proper mixed season with wrong team shape and tactics, falling out with radio journalists, fans on his back yet he’s turned things around by being prepared to change and he’s changed because he’s a young manager learning his trade. We still aren’t guaranteed anything from this season but what we have is a good young manager in the making, fair play to him.

A ‘keepie’ even if we aren’t promoted!
    Development!

    1. FITZSIMONS 7 mostly untroubled.
    4. KOUOGUN 7 solid before his injury.
    5. EVANS 8 won so many headers.
    7. CLUNAN (C) 7 solid, marshalled the midfield well.
    10. ROBERTS 8 Dangerous, caused alsorts of problems.
    11. ROWLEY 7 did everything he needed to.
    14. UBAEZUONU 9 MOTM goal and an assist.
    19. BECK 8 Best I’ve seen him play, excellent hold up play 2nd half.
    20. SCALES 8 really well suited to playing in a 3 man midfield.
    33. DENTON 7 unspectacular, did everything he needed to
    37. ROSE 8 Solid at the back. Excellent Assist for the 1st goal.

Fair assessment I think. Probably 7 for Roberts for me. Didn’t mention Federa. Not at his best when he came on. Nearly cost us with a clanger but it was snuffed out in the end.

It wasn’t an unbearable match to watch (on TV at least), but both sides seemed determined to make quite hard work of it. United managed to break through the general shit-ceiling a few times… and to be fair to Alfreton they did too. I’m thinking of one moment in particular – how unlucky they were for the ball to smash into the bar then post then crap centre-forward’s head.

Why was Banjo in his own box? (lol)

Which’ll come first, the resurrection of Christ or Banjo’s next goal?

Surely he can’t go another eight games without scoring?

Perfect opportunity on Saturday v Farcely Celtic – shooting practice!

‘Leave it out Renee, don’t pick on the tall fella’

I really hope he bags a hat-trick v Celtic… we’ll need a return from him next season… assuming Whitehall is off at season’s end. Only, it’ll be harder to score a league higher.

Time for Banjo to hit the nitrous button!

    “1. FITZSIMONS 7 mostly untroubled.”

Except for 2 excellent saves at 0-0 which almost certainly changed the game IMO, from 2-0 down would we have taken 3 points?
    Very unfair, a definite 10.

Beck still didn’t look any more effective on the goal scoring front Rene, but he did a very good job regardless IMO. Ball hold up, tackles, general nuisance and physicality against a big and nasty side.

I think Carlton deserves another start now his tail is up, whether Wreh is okay to start or not.

He did quite well last night and, to be fair to him, he scored that goal on Saturday that was disallowed due to a marginal offside decision against Tyler Denton.

And i said “on it from minute one” Lol, one of the worst first halves I’ve seen this season but for Fitz we’re probably 2-0 down.

Scored with our second adventure into their box, didn’t get our first corner till 42nd minute.

Played ten times better last season than we did last night and that was with ten men for most of the game but we only drew, hats off to the lads for hanging in there and coming up with the goods and winning quite easily in the second half, games like that are the ones that get you promotion far from our best but resilient.

Fitz Motm imo closely followed by Evans who’s being outstanding in the last 3 games I’ve seen, not being my favorite player by any means but credit where credit is due.

Believe they announced the crowd about 600! At least 400 from scunny so cant believe they only had 200 of their own fans there maybe they’re on the make.

The Farsley game is not a given, in fact probably one of the banana skins of the season.

Must show 100% professionalism and attack from the 1st minute to the 90th. This game allows us to keep the pressure on
but only if we want to do it.

My fears pre-match were not realised.
    a) We had one of the better refs this season and
    b) Alfreton were no worse than any other sides we’ve seen this season.

The ref was garbage during the first half of the game against Alfreton last night. Joke bookings and then failure to book Evans for what (squinting at it on another day) could even have been a red.

    On reflection, I agree.
