The nerdier among you might have noticed that the northern end of the M181 has been rebranded the A1077(M) between the new roundabout & Frodingham Grange roundabout. Which means it is still officially a motorway, despite the new name. If it’s going to remain a motorway, then I can’t see how the plan to put an access road from the new flats/GP onto the road will be possible, which wouldn’t be ideal. Does anyone know if this is a permanent arrangement? Seems a bit weird to keep it as an official motorway.

Probably remains classified as a Motorway until the roundabout they are constructing actually opens and then it will be reclassified as the A1077.

    When does it open?
And when will it be connected to Scotter road? Or are they waiting on more government money?

So far I’ve seen reference bto both svroundabout and traffic lights at the Scotter road end.
    Hope it’s not the latter.

I think it is fully open now and the A1077(M) signs are new, replacing M181 ones on part of the old motorway (weirdly, the bottom bit down to the M180 is still the M181).

I think the initial plan is to connect to Scotter Road opposite West Common Lane. I’ve also seen talk of a second roundabout on the old M181 which will “intercept” the road between Asda roundabout & Burringham.

Soz Alcazar humour has well run dry this season to input an emoji.

If we can’t have the new ground maybe a ground refurbishment??
    Apartments maybe?
