That worked well for them, was there a free bar?
February 4, 2024 at 10:23 am #280388A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE!
Around The Grounds!
A sponsored walk.
Is anyone fit enough and has the time & the energy and the motivation to walk from Scunny to ground to ground to the finishing line of Bishop Stortford FC?
871 miles – the shortest route.
The route is below.
I’m too old to do it, I’m way passed my best (lol).
I’m sure a sponsor would put the fundraiser/s up in Travelodge/Premier Inns on their epic journey.
4mph x 8hrs a day and it’ll take the ‘super hero/es’ 30 days to complete.
A gigantuan effort!I’d be happy to donate £300 to the fundraiser – a tenner a day is a paltry sum for the effort the guys will be making.
5,000 (donations) X £??? = Who knows!
Half a Million would be a nice target!Additional Business sponsorship might see us achieve or even surpass that target figure.
The Route:
1) DN15 8, Scunthorpe
2) Scarborough FC
3) NE24 3, Blyth Spartans
4) South Shields FC
5) Spennymoor Town FC
6) DLI5, Darlington
7) Farsley Celtic FC
8) OL7 9, Curzon Ashton FC
9) Chorley FC
10) Southport FC.
11) Chester City FC
12) Warrington Town FC
13) Buxton FC
14) Alfreton Town FC
15) Tamworth FC
16) Rushall Olympic FC
17) HR4 9, Hereford FC
18) GL2 5, Gloucester FC
19) OX16 5, Banbury FC
20) N13 7, Brackley
21) PE1 3, Peterborough FC
22) Boston United FC
23) Kings Lynn FC
24) CM23 5, Bishop’s Stortford FCFebruary 4, 2024 at 11:02 am #280390If as someone has said the playing budget has been set for next season, how about start selling 2024-5 Season Tickets?

February 5, 2024 at 12:13 am #280419A sponsored sleep out at Glanford Park.
165 people recently slept out at Molineux raising over £30k
Could we eclipse their 165 and raise funds for the club?

Time, tide and debts wait for no club.
February 8, 2024 at 6:03 am #280630The Penny Club
A Penny a day helps the club stay afloat.
Put a penny aside every day.
0.01 x 365 = £3.65
£3.65 x 4000 = £14,600The power of the penny.
February 8, 2024 at 6:08 am #280631Sponsored Goals
Donate a pound for every goal we score over the course of the season.
100 goals = £100 donation at the end of the season.
£100 x 4,000 = £400,000
Attack, attack, attack!
February 9, 2024 at 7:31 pm #280719Away NLN games that don’t clash with PL games.
£180 for a commercial premise to show the game.
Iron Bar holds 200.
£10 entry = £2,000
£20 beer (a guess) = £4,000
£10 food = £2,000Income = £8,000
Iron Bar = 200
Exec Lounge = 120
Restaurant = 150470 potential.
That could generate £18,800 (using the assumed expenditure above).Money in to our club rather than the oppositions.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way back to the EFL.
You’ve supported the Iron all your life – support them from beyond the grave when you’re no longer here.
Leave a percentage of your estate to the Iron in your will.

March 15, 2024 at 9:37 am #282769How about a FWHST?
A Fair Weather Half Season Ticket for those whom don’t like the cold, dark, wet winter Saturday afternoons.
First 7 home games of season
Plus
Last 7 home games of season.
Do a bit of ‘dizzy’ (discount) to make it VFM.Sort of?
Next season maybe?March 15, 2024 at 1:50 pm #282778<strong class=”d4pbbc-bold”>Pennys from Heaven

Lol, which bit of my estate would they want? The bit at the back with dog hairs everywhere?
May 13, 2024 at 6:00 pm #2857447 days a week business… I’ve heard that touted many times.
Here’s another idea.
Young Iron Day Care Nursery.
Morning 7:30 – 12:30… £35
Afternoon 13:00 – 18:00… £35
Short Day 8:30 – 16:30… £50
Full Day 7:30 – 18:00… £60Obviously you’d need trained, qualified staff and the equipment and environment to deliver.
You’d not be making, selling or repairing anything, no stock to check & purchase, no wastage to throw out, no shrinkage from shop lifters etc.
Day nurseries are obviously always going to be needed. Demand for places will continue to rise in the coming years.
It’d generate a guaranteed Mon to Friday income stream.
Donny Rovers have a set up along those lines:
May 13, 2024 at 6:05 pm #285745Legends game.
I read a few weeks ago that on average, we take about £50k in gate receipts for a game?
Once the seasons finished, how about a Legends fundraiser the week after the concluding league / play off game?
Iron Claret Legends v Iron Blue Legends
12 claret legends and 12 blue legends.
6 legends play the first half for each team and the second set of 6 legends play the second half for each team.10 fans play for the clarets and 10 fans play for the blues.
The first set of 5 fans play the first half for each team, the second set of 5 fans plays the second half for each team.Claret team = 6 legends & 5 fans
Blue team = 6 legends & 5 fansFor £500, twenty fans get to pull on the claret & blue of Scunthorpe United FC, get changed in the changing rooms with their heroes of yesteryear and to actually play 45 minutes in a game with and against their idols!
20 x £500 = £10,000
2,000 (attendance)(a guess) x £15 = £30,000
Program, food, drinks = £20k (guess)
Sponsorship (annual Legends Trophy) = £5k (another guess)Total revenue = £65k
If match day staff volunteered their labour, then this minimises the costs and maximises the funds raised.
Just an idea. It might be a load of tosh or it could be a good opportunity?
LT would be a perfect match-day commentator over the PA.
UTI.
Great to see that the guys at the Club read this forum.
