June 6, 2024 at 12:55 am #286758New assistant due in a month’s time, plus Beestin and Boyce have both signed on, but not announced it yet. Solar panelling is to be installed in a few months time which will cut the electricity bill.
All in all some good info. Butler has targeted 2 more signings which are more higher priority signings which he really, really wants and the others they hope will come from a stream of trialists. There will be some of the budget left if we need any back ups via the loan market.
All in all a very worthwhile interview.
June 6, 2024 at 2:36 am #286759great interview .. got to love this ladies loyalty, honesty our club is in safe hands.
By the sounds of it JD wanted to keep the same highly paid team and probably style n tactics that failed last season so hats off to the BOD for making the decision to get rid.
After so many years of doom n gloom the future is bright

June 6, 2024 at 11:43 am #286777£1.7 million wage bill last season really stood out in that interview. Anyone saying that “Butterfield was disrespected” needs to stare at that number until they can join up the dots.
June 6, 2024 at 12:10 pm #286779A supporter like awaywego might say about the £1.7m, ‘well, it’s the Chairman’s money. He can do what he likes’. Just the small issue of Hilton not having the money.
June 6, 2024 at 12:15 pm #286780Haven’t listened to it yet on mi hols, is that the total wage bill or just the players wage bill, if it’s for all employees twould seem alright, thinking about it it must be 30 players on £50 grand a piece and butters on £75 grand would only come out at £1.575.000.
£1.7 in normal times (Michelle didn’t get the season ticket money) would have been covered from gate receipts alone so the club should be happy at that can’t see where a problem is with it.June 6, 2024 at 1:40 pm #286781June 6, 2024 at 2:10 pm #286784Hindsight is a wonderful thing but thinking back it was a clusterfook at times ..just why Youmbi
Leesley ever came is head shaking .. other loan players who just warmed the bench like Clarke and sadly Corbett who wasnt given enough game time IMO.Thank gord JD was shown the door as this ill thought out poorly executed method may well have just carried on if he had stayed as would more failure.
June 6, 2024 at 2:37 pm #286787I get the impression from listening to Michelle’s interviews that she felt let down by backing Dean in the transfer market only to see him sign a bunch of players he never used.

Agree .. she was bang on as well, again (in hindsight) IMO 100% the correct decision to get rid of JD
June 6, 2024 at 2:57 pm #286790Is it possible that some of those players were signed for (not by) Dean? Can’t believe he wanted Youmbi.

What makes you think that? The fact he barely played him, or something else?
June 6, 2024 at 4:17 pm #286793Toatally agree – great and honest interview – really looking forward to the season. UTI

Just asking a question, the game time he got was the reason.

June 6, 2024 at 6:15 pm #286798Sorry if my question came across as a bit sharp Cass, I was just curious if you’d heard or read anything along those lines.
