Can anyone confirm this? Saw a couple of social media comments around the same figure. It wouldn’t surprise me with the nailed on winter lockdown and the club’s piss poor management/ability to generate any sort of excitement. I hope a lot of fans just wait and see how it goes with signings/Covid and then pay on the day but I can see attendances struggling to get above 1,500

July 18, 2021 at 9:25 am #210536Masterminding a disaster it appears if the figure is anywhere near that.
Pay on the day / Last minute walk – ups are now going to be greatly reduced as the club announce with 3 weeks to go the club has gone CASHLESS !! Now isn’t that a gem.
Fighting for every penny and we tell people don’t bring your cash, in recent days I have seen where non-league(lower than the National League !) announcing season ticket sales of a 1000 or more and their normal admission are £18 – £20 a game ! Which is not that different.

July 18, 2021 at 10:32 am #210540Are we sure that the figure is actually that high?
I suppose some don’t care so much about the football but have just got into an unpleasant habit such as: taking snuff, picking their noses in public, spitting in the street or imbibing laudanum.
(Apologies to the few brave loyalists before both of them demand my head on a spike.)If the 31st May situation had come to pass – that 200 figure could perhaps have been quadrupled.
July 18, 2021 at 10:52 am #21054231st July not looking too good either!
July 18, 2021 at 11:16 am #210543I had heard they had sold nearly 750 and that was the last week in June. Bradford have sold 12750.
July 18, 2021 at 11:18 am #210544Just what the Chairman needed he can now say the club is not viable

Well it clearly isn’t with him in charge as an £11 million deficit due to budget mismanagement clearly proves.

July 18, 2021 at 11:28 am #210549200 seems high to me given the state of things.
July 18, 2021 at 5:02 pm #210552Having not bought one this season I thought I might try Lincoln but there is a long waiting list – no chance
Can’t remember when I last missed one to watch SUFCJuly 18, 2021 at 6:00 pm #210553My thinking would be if we had sold 750 I would publicise a push to a 1,000. The fact that the club is not naming any figures would make that unlikely. I hope it is near the 750 mark but we this season appears to be a holding pattern prior to liquidation.

July 18, 2021 at 9:47 pm #210554You could claim this is Covid related and possibly a little bit is, however I think it’s more about the frustration and miss trust the fans feel.
Enough is enough
Maybe the fans are more important than some owners used to think
July 19, 2021 at 12:21 am #210559GTFC have sold over 2,000, and they are still going strong. It’s surprising what a change in ownership can do, you lot should try it!
We are non league, but we are in a better position to you.

Couldn’t sleep les?
July 19, 2021 at 11:14 am #210565You are spot on, Cass.
Three and a half hours of really deep sleep; probably 45 minutes of REM crap on top; 45 minutes catnap in the early afternoon. Total – somewhere in the region of 5 hours in every 24.It’s just how I muddle through life – it isn’t exclusively me worrying about The Iron.

les you should have been with me yesterday at Headingley, cracking T20 between England and Pakistan, wonderful atmosphere on that Western Terrace with both sets of fans getting along brilliantly. Saw the biggest six ever when Livingstone smashed one over the new triple tier stand and onto Leeds Rugby ground. Fantastic entertainment you would have enjoyed it, always better when it’s live. 🏏🍻👍

July 19, 2021 at 11:34 am #210569I bet it was hot though, both games have been good.
July 19, 2021 at 11:44 am #210571I was following Hampshire v Glamorgan on ESPNCRICINFO and would have loved to have seen the Hampshire innings, 18 fours and 12 sixes scoring 187 in 13 overs to qualify to the quarterfinals of the Blast, they needed to do it in 14 overs, but Livingstone is one big hitter and unlucky with the runout.

Can’t remember when I last missed one to watch SUFCI missed one match in the past 13 years since retirement, that was the Sunderland game after sitting in the club car park for an hour, before finding that my season ticket was in a jacket back in Barton. But I will be one of the missing fans this season, just because after the past three seasons, I have that feeling that this season will be even worse if that is possible!!!!. 20 players have left the club, and the four signings to date are four more defenders!!!!!!, just looking back to the end of last season, Scunny failed to score a goal in eight of our last ten matches, and we are now faced with Turan, Hippolyte, Jarvis, Green and Loft, most of whome could not make the team last season!!!
Maybe the club should try pushing the ticket sales on the club web-site !!!!!, I cannot help but think that this situation is being developed for some reason, it is difficult to think how a club can have fallen so badly as Scunny, and at the same time of losing such vast sums of money, why were questions not asked by management on why this situation was happening, and why was a stop not put in place??, we actually started last season witheight straight losses, and ended it with one win in eighteen matches, and WE STILL HAVE THE MANAGER AND HIS SQUAD IN CHARGE, THIS IS NOT REAL, OR IS IT BECAUSE THE CHAIRMAN DOES NOT LIKE SACKING MANAGERS??

Can’t agree with the run out mick, if he’d trusted his partner and responded to his call instead of looking for the ball it was an easy run. Schoolboy error.
July 19, 2021 at 12:13 pm #210577He was out, just unlucky the fielder hadn’t knocked both bails off with his leg, then I think he would have had to pull a stump out.
July 19, 2021 at 1:22 pm #210579Heard today from a person that works down there that we have sold just under a 1000 season tickets.

Are they a reliable source or a club stooge? Genuine question not a piss take, like have they given you information before about the club that has been 100% accurate?
July 19, 2021 at 2:46 pm #210581Yes been told by a reliable source
July 19, 2021 at 2:53 pm #210582IA – yup. A terrific match and still nowhere close to being our best line-up.
Preferred being at home, frankly. Bloomin’ warm, yesterday.
Have to agree about that six!July 19, 2021 at 3:29 pm #210583It was a scorcher les but well worth it, lots of sun cream + cap + lots of cold beer made it very tolerable. The atmosphere was electric, wouldn’t have missed it, too good to miss, plus I’d waited over a year to see it.
July 19, 2021 at 5:22 pm #210589Just under a thousand sounds about right,
Albeit still a low number. We are looking at a good proportion of games being sub 3,000 this year, even on a Saturday. Tuesday night games could see the figure drop to around 2,000.
A complete shambles all round and how anyone can defend the current set up is beyond me.

Lot of those games are streamed on YouTube Mick, looks like you watch the whole game here:

Only a couple are trying Cliff and even they are almost running on empty. One of them might be along in a minute with a reason to be positive but only if we’ve signed a keeper and 3 others.
