There are a lot of bike race fans in the area, always has been.
Had some great riders – more recent Matshall, Burnett, Rob Mcelnea, ‘Marra Brown’ – admittedly not so many these days as many used to be supported by Bike shops and there are not so many these days.
March 30, 2025 at 8:31 am #301199Bikers love this stuff and if it goes right they attend things like bike nights in their droves. Its a good use of the area and good parking for them.

Maybe you don’t know as much about these things as you make out you do…..
March 30, 2025 at 4:40 pm #301237I had a cousin who drove sidecars and had 9 wins in the Isle of Man GP, until he got seriously injured and left him paralysed and died years later from his injuries

I know nowt about bikes and don’t want to.
F1 is something else I’ve not bothered with for probably 30 years.
It’d be a sad world if we all liked the same.
Unity in diversity.March 30, 2025 at 9:21 pm #301268I trust you won’t be going Rene

Unity in diversity.Last time I watched any motorbike racing, Barry Sheen was involved. F1 – Mario Andretti in his black and gold JPS Lotus. Marvelous.

March 31, 2025 at 9:13 am #301283There were people at the ground on Saturday handing out flyers for other ‘talk nights’ coming up down at Glanford Park. I think ‘Anfield Legends’ was one, and Andy Cole was the other. Like the motorbike nights, these things are not to everyone’s tastes – but why should they be? Why would every event put on have to appeal to the lowest common denominator? Why, if it’s not to your particular taste, slag it off? As long as the Club makes money on these things then that’s fair enough.

March 31, 2025 at 9:53 am #301287The first one was well attended and the next one probably will be. Nothing topic.
March 31, 2025 at 11:34 am #301296Agree in the main but like everything else it should be the club running the show but at least the bike nights are.
March 31, 2025 at 6:11 pm #301341Don’t see the harm in events like this – do see the harm in poorly thought out events like the Weekender (reputational damage).
