That’s how many experienced Jimmyball on Tuesday and didn’t come back.
Up to £30,000 lost to the club.

February 3, 2024 at 6:34 pm #2803495277 attendees for Tamworth of which 249 were from Tamworth.
3285 for today against Rushall of which 27 were from Rushall.
I make that 1716 who didn’t turn up today. You really need to stop making things up CMC.1 user thanked author for this post.
February 3, 2024 at 6:48 pm #280353Only 54 out. Better numeracy than whoever agreed to pay Dean Rance £1500 a week

February 3, 2024 at 7:10 pm #280355Indeed it is ! Without doubt better numeracy than Mr Hilton.
February 3, 2024 at 7:13 pm #280356Iron-awe has quoted 1800, are you going to go after him as well?

Except for the exceptionally bad times of repeated relegation (Cox Hill) there has always been a hardcore of circa 3k fans who turn up rain snow or blow with another 1500 to 2k floaters who will attend when the team is doing well and playing good attractive football (good memory needed) .. the fact the ownership appears stable and ground is safe plus better food etc it proves fans will turn out to support the club when decent football is being played . No one wants to watch a loosing team and go home depressed its human nature.

“You need a very good reason not to be at Glanford Park this Saturday”
I think some found it on Tuesday

February 4, 2024 at 8:52 am #280381Based on the football I’ve watched on Tuesday and Saturday I’d never go again.
My reasoning to keep going is to support the club financially and try and support them to get out of this horrible league which Swann and then Hilton have driven us into.
To that end, for this season, Dean and the players have my support. I think we can grind out the results to keep up pressure on Tamworth and worse case we finish second and are in pole position for the playoffs.
Once we get into The National League and club gets out of the embargo and some of the expensive player contracts they are signed up to then I’ll have some expectations and the games should be better.February 4, 2024 at 10:16 am #2803875277 attendees for Tamworth of which 249 were from Tamworth.

February 4, 2024 at 11:29 am #280393That is probably true. What I’m saying is that Michelle Harness and the board haven’t waved a wand and thrown millions of pounds in, they’re still digging us out and all I can do as a supporter is support.
We’re not in a position to pick and choose the manager or the players yet.
As others have said there’s 3500 who’ll turn up regularly and there always has been.February 4, 2024 at 11:59 am #280394You talk about me making stuff up TJO, in the 90s Mick Buxton total football era we averaged just over 2500 for a lot of Saturday games and 1500-1600 midweek.
3500 crowds really didn’t happen till the play off pushes.

February 4, 2024 at 12:07 pm #280395Would be nice for them to throw enough in to get rid of the embargo though, players being targeted for next season wont see us as a good prospect if it goes on for much longer.

Yeah, that’s fair enough cmc. I should have known as I was a regular in that 2,500 crowd.
February 4, 2024 at 1:33 pm #280398Whatever the number who did or didn’t do the biggest factor is are the fans being entertained ?
You need to leave a game having watched the team try everything especially going forward. Chuckle brother football will not keep crowds up. Overthinking is fatal and it results in not wanting to lose.
February 4, 2024 at 1:34 pm #280399Back to the opening statement CMC… the performance on Tuesday never cost us 1700 to 1800 fans or £30000. We were never going to approach 5300 on Saturday ..even if we’d won on Tuesday. A good win might have given us a 4500 crowd on Saturday at very best. It was a dire performance. It’s cost us fans, money and momentum .. but those figures are an exaggeration out of dislike of the Manager.

February 4, 2024 at 1:55 pm #280401So it’s perfectly alright for the club to be losing money and backing as long as it doesn’t reflect on the manager
Coming from a Hilton Apologist, sounds about right.February 4, 2024 at 2:04 pm #280403I said £20.000 CMC £30.000 either way a lot of money we can supposedly not afford to lose, not liking the manager nothing to do with it, people will not turn up time after time after being disappointed, always being the same 6000 turn up to watch us play Bury early season in the seventies we didn’t turn up and they never did again all season and we ended getting promoted once bitten twice shy.
February 4, 2024 at 7:36 pm #280411So it’s perfectly alright for the club to be losing money and backing as long as it doesn’t reflect on the manager
Coming from a Hilton Apologist, sounds about right.Just stating facts,CMC. I did say that the dire performance cost us fans and money. Just not to the extent you opened with.
What’s with the Hilton comment? Maybe it was aimed at someone else? There were some who defended him even to the last ..but not me.
I’m not a fan of Jimmy Dean (although I can’t see him going anywhere til the end of the season .. and even beyond if he pulls off promotion)but exaggerating facts to ramp up hostility isn’t a great strategy.February 4, 2024 at 9:12 pm #280414Would be nice for them to throw enough in to get rid of the embargo though, players being targeted for next season wont see us as a good prospect if it goes on for much longer.
Harness has already said that 60% off the debt had been cleared and most of that was tax related, which was she was sure would be cleared mid January. Harness also said she was pretty certain that all the left over debt would be gone and the embargo would be lifted before the start of next season.
I have absolutely no reason to doubt her.
I’ve noticed the sponsorship deals have gone through the roof. The only thing not being sponsored are the food wrappers. I believe Harness and trust the embargo will be lifted before a ball is kicked next season.

100% this. If we’d beaten Tamworth 5-0 on Tuesday, I doubt we’d have got close to 4,500 against Rushall, it’s just not such an attractive fixture.
February 5, 2024 at 11:36 am #280429Cant afford to wait till near start of the season WG only the dross will be left being there done that read the book, Hilton got it right whatever anyone thinks of him Michelle must do the same, someone said yesterday get the season tickets sales going pay off the debt sign the players, we’ve also got a multi millionaire on the board loan the money pay back later it’s football and there’s no need to reinvent the wheel just keep it simple
February 5, 2024 at 12:20 pm #280431Which bit did Hilton get right? If you mean signing players on top dollar, how was that getting it right?

February 5, 2024 at 12:22 pm #280433Crippling the club, so we can’t buy needed transfers and boost the squad when we need it is ‘getting it right’?

Agreed, signing players we can’t afford and saying it’s the right thing to do is a bit like ostrich syndrome, if I keep my head buried in the sand long enough everything will be fine. Reality check, the real world doesn’t work that way, we have to be sustainable and patient in the process of building a decent side overtime.
