Since Adkins: Baraclough, Knill, Laws, Wilcox, Dawson, Robins, Daws, Alexander, Daws, Dawson, McCall, Dawson, Hurst, Cox.
Swann is highly experienced at hiring managers. PMA!
Oh yeah & i wanna be the 1st to say HILL OUT!. Bragging rights.
Nothing against the guy but it doesn’t pay to become too attached to our managers.
To be fair JP Swann did not hire Adkins, Barraclough, Knill or Laws although he did sack Brian.
Even without that his record does not fill you full of confidence in making the right choice this time and without question the choice this time is the most important decision he will have made as Chairman. I am hoping on the law of averages he will get one right eventually.
According to the bookies it’s down Hill from here.
we have a mountain to climb not a hill
Swann doesn’t have a good track record with his recruitment decisions thus far and this is the biggest decision that he will make during his time at Scunthorpe United. If he gets this appointment wrong then we are doomed to relegation and who knows what follows that!
The next issue is, once he has appointed a new manager, he needs to ensure that the manager can bring in players for the right calibre. Despite what Swann thinks, from what I’ve seen this season the current squad don’t have enough in them to ensure we are safe from the drop. We are short on ability and confidence. I think two or three quality singings would quickly take us from nailed on relegation certainties, to mid-table safety.
Whatever happens, this next week will likely define how history will remember Swann.
I just hope he draws extensively on the knowledge and experience of Chris Swann with his 2:1 and couple of years on the Deloitte graduate programme, Will Swann with his years of playing Football Manager and of course Mrs Swann. If they all put their best footballing minds to it I don’t see what could go wrong.
Going…..DOWN, going down going down.
Going down going down going daaown.
You heard it here first.
