How long until that famously twitchy trigger finger fires another manager? Obviously, it would be a bad idea but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.
When Hill signed, I predicted he wouldn’t still be with us come the end of the season, does anyone think he will be?

January 9, 2022 at 9:12 pm #221028This isn’t Hills fault

January 9, 2022 at 9:12 pm #221029Where did I say it was Mick?
January 9, 2022 at 9:16 pm #221030You didn’t, just saying there is no reason to sack Hill when he is on mission impossible

January 9, 2022 at 9:20 pm #221031I agree, however if we don’t win one of our next few matches, I do wonder if it might happen. Or Hill might walk – and I wouldn’t blame him if he did.

January 9, 2022 at 9:25 pm #221032As said before, post match yesterday you could tell he was losing the will to live. Hill openly said the players weren’t good enough and that they need help.
Also as said before, he will have been given assurances and so far they aren’t being met. If no more players are in, in a few weeks time then expect him to walk.
I just hope he doesn’t self implode and starts lining up with odd formations and leaving our better players out.

January 9, 2022 at 10:07 pm #221042No point in sacking Hill it’s not his fault and no other manager would do better. But I agree with WG that if we don’t get new players I wouldn’t be surprised to see him walk.

January 10, 2022 at 12:09 am #221050The Chairman is absolutely useless in my opinion (and many others)
He is (most likely) going to be the person who takes 70+ Years of football league history and tradition and rams it down the toilet!!
Wonder how proud that makes him feel???
I’ll predict a propaganda radio humberside interview when the inevitable happens filled with false promises… obviously I could be wrong these are simply my own thoughts and predictions!!

January 10, 2022 at 12:11 am #221052As I said many times Cox should have been sacked last January, it is his and Swanns fault we are were we are, and I still think that being out of league football and bankrupcy like Bury was the reason Cox was kept on, that is my opinion, simply because I cannot see any possible reason for keeping him on, he was clueless.
January 10, 2022 at 9:26 am #221061Looking at the next few fixtures I fully expect us to be 5 points adrift from safety come the end of January. The simple truth is thus; the squad are just not up to the job in hand. It doesn’t really matter who the manager is at this stage, unless we get some better players we are going down.

January 10, 2022 at 9:32 am #221065This isn’t Hills fault
I think we all know whose fault it is, Mick.
But Hill may walk when he realises Swann ain’t interested.
I said as much when he came.Swanny has been selling us “the dream” since he arrived.
I think everyone now sees through him.January 10, 2022 at 11:39 am #221095Can’t see him wanting a relegation on his CV- a few more defeats this month may see him walk.
January 10, 2022 at 12:01 pm #221099You would have thought with an egotist running the show the last thing he would want is a relegation on his portfolio CV, maybe redevelopment and a tidy profit will be enough to massage his ego.

January 10, 2022 at 2:28 pm #221123I think Hill has done a good job – I think he has squeezed as much out of the players he can, or anybody can. They are just not good enough league footballers. Its like asking Beethoven to play Moonlight Sonata on a Banjo

Anybody worth their salt, who owns and runs a club like ours must have somebody on the inside telling them what was going on. The tail was wagging the dog from the start of the season under Cox and nowt was being done about it, you have to ask why.

January 11, 2022 at 5:43 am #221183My only concern here is that we do not really know what is in the pipeline for the next couple of weeks.
Okay. Based on times past we can reasonably assume that there are no Ferrero Rocher in the goodie bag – but there may yet be a few Liquorice Allsorts.January 11, 2022 at 9:25 am #221191Maybe les, but it’ll be the plain white ones that are always left when everybody has picked out their favourites.
