Zaha, Taylor and a few others have made the point that the message still isn’t getting across and therefore questioning whether or not the knee gesture has run its course. I said in an earlier post that this was always a possibility.
However something still needs to be done as the situation has got worse, not better. Witness the racist hate mail and death threats that a number of of black players have received in recent weeks via social media.
Not just footballers either, several BAME female MPs have similarly been targeted.
What is to be done about it? Or are we just going to ignore it and hope it goes away like “taking the knee”?
There’s a bit more to it than 1-0 to the white blokes!
