I think more people are worried by the numbers DM because the ” lie culture ” perpetrated by Trump and his cohorts over the last four plus years is perceived by many as the truth. This has a lot to do with social media and the fact that Trump just ran with lies day after day, week after week and eventually year after year ad nauseum until it appeared to many to be all true. The gullibility of his fan base plus the repeat rhetoric of right wing media in the USA has just added fuel to the lie based fire. You only need to watch a few nightly based shows on Fox, e.g. Tucked Carlson, Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs ( who has just been replaced incidentally ) to see how deeply ingrained this bull shit has become. It’s a combination of lots of different factors over recent years that has led to the distortion of the truth and the lack of common sense ability by a lot of easily led people to tell the differences between fact and fiction. For some reason some people are more comfortable believing fiction then fact, that is the real scary stuff. It’s how Hitler got started back in 1933.
