That 74 million figure toted as a totemic figure doesn’t look so impressive when you compare it to other losing candidates of recent times, yet we’re supposed to treat it as a means to not swerve from the fanbase, no matter how ridiculous their views are, when we weren’t supposed to for Clinton, Kerry, Gore or Romney:
