I think some posters on here have been very tolerant towards BI, even defensive. Just check theirs and my ‘back catalogues’, only 2 clicks away.
Gurney provocative? Check the ‘Deal’ thread. Check BI’s first post, addressed to ‘a bunch of bitter old men’! Or, note his obsessive references to others, or to Gurn, 12 times in the first 5 pages, compared to my 3 sporadic replies!
‘Provocation’ of propagandists and their doppelgangers? If they try to gain the confidence of the gullible and easily impressed in a bid to make them more receptive to far-right politics/parties, they deserve to be called out. Their content and style make them readily identifiable. There are other ways too…
The unchecked, online manipulation of voters through multiple identities, non-identities and lying has become a distinctive feature of political propaganda. It has affected us all. It helped Trump get elected, it helped deliver Brexit, and has contributed to polarization and economic crisis. It really deserves a lot more than just satire.
