Not only that, we are now seeing a decline in case rates after the latest tough measures, just as we did before and have done elsewhere.
This is not to say that lockdown is without fault. Things like domestic abuse rates are of course a massive downside. However, when weighing up we cannot pretend that they don’t cause declines in infection because we want a black and white world where lockdowns are some unspeakable evil being thrust on us for some reason. I don’t know why; I don’t know why the government would pursue an economically harmful policy without reason, especially when that is in their best interests, but hey, I am just some sheep who doesn’t just blame authority for everything and think that because something is the general consensus it must be false.
