It needs to be reported on for the sake of public knowledge and lack of confusion for why some items may not be found.
Of course the nature of 24 hour news stations and cyclical focus on the same subject constantly turns it into a drama where it all seems so catastrophic.
Given the times we should learn to live with hardship if it’s temporary. However, I am cautious of becoming blasé about the benefits of modern society. This is an issue which could be an impact with Brexit and its defenders sometimes say “a bit of hardship didn’t do us any harm, today’s snowflakes should learn to adapt like we did in the war.”* It’s not the end of the world, but we have made great progress in providing a society which allows the selling of a multitude of foods to enjoy. This is not to be scoffed at, I feel, and I think as a society we should strive to improve things for the next generations.
Of course some things do worsen over time, while others improve, but we should do what we can to keep the good things. Having to make do with less is fine when it’s justifiable, such as concerns over a pandemic, but I am not sure if it’s justifiable for Brexit, no matter how many times Bucks screams about the self-evident advantages which are seemingly unable to be explained.
*Usually said by those who were too young to be affected by the war themselves.
