Former Notts County owner Alan Hardy is leading a consortium interested in purchasing Scunthorpe United, according to BBC Radio Humberside.
Hardy is understood to have made his interest known to current Iron owner Peter Swann, but it is not clear whether a formal bid has been made.
Swann is looking to conclude a deal as soon as possible following the news the club were served a winding up order over an alleged £190,000 owed to HM Revenue and Customs.
