National League outfit Altrincham have signed former Iron winger Ryan Colclough on a short-term deal.

The shock move has Altrincham eyeing a push for the National League play offs, so be sure to peruse the latest bookies offers and William Hill promotions to get the best odds on Robins as they aim to close the gap on teams above them in the final months of the campaign.

Colclough was suspended by Scunthorpe after being charged with assaulting a police officer following an incident at a Taco Bell drive-through in June and subsequently released last month.

The Stoke-born attacker, 25,denies the charge and entered a plea of not guilty at Doncaster Magistrates, with the case adjourned until March.

He will be with the Robins until the New Year and cannot join another EFL club until the transfer window opens in January, linking up with Iron winger Andy Dales, who is currently on loan at Moss Lane.
